In 2010, guitarist Pedro Quelhas and drummer Cristiano Brito left
gothic rock band Deep Cut, determined to venture into a new project. Soon
after, they joined forces with guitarist Dinis Martins, bassist Rúben
Oliveira and lead singer Ricardo Pereira, and founded Moonshade.
Influenced at first by northern Europe’s recent wave of melodic death metal
bands, and with a clear goal of combining melodic and extreme elements, they
released “The Path Of Redemption”, their first EP, which came out solely
in digital format and was produced by Pedro Quelhas himself. After a few
concerts, came the first lineup changes: Cristiano and Rúben left
the band and bassist Afonso Aguiar joined the ranks.
In 2014, the band released their second EP, entitled “Dream | Oblivion” –
their first work to be released in physical form. The album, which featured
Luís Neto as a session drummer, was also produced by Pedro Quelhas,
and its release was accompanied by the release of the “Goddess Eternal”
single, as well as the addition of drummer Sandro Rodrigues to the lineup.
In 2015, guitarist Daniel Laureano and keyboard player Nuno Barbosa
joined the band, marking the dawn of a new era for Moonshade, who
spent the next couple of years performing on some of Portugal’s biggest stages,
such as Vagos Open Air, Pax Julia Metal Fest and Morbid Spring Fest,
among others.
At the tail end of 2017, Afonso left the band and keyboardist Nuno became
the band’s new bass player, a function he accumulated with his former one. This
lineup recorded the “Sun Dethroned” album, the band’s debut full length.
The record, a conceptual piece exploring the balance between good and evil, and
its necessity in life, was released by Spanish label Art Gates Records,
in 2018.
After a string of successful shows and Sandro’s departure, the band
announced their first international shows, as part of the Dethroning Stars
Tour, alongside fellow northern Portuguese band Apotheus, and
featuring Diogo Mota as a live drummer.
Already peeking at their tenth anniversary, Moonshade are more alive than
ever, in their constant aim to musically redefine the beauty within chaos, death
and despair

In 2014 when Rydsheim, Jothun and Borka wanted to create
something together. Rydsheim and Borka was in a band together called ÅSKFÖDD
which had gathered notoriety in the folk scene around Stockholm, Sweden.
Jothun had been in various bands before but nothing which caught his
interest. The trio started to play black'n roll but lacked a vocalist and a
steady second guitarist. After a few months Nine (WITHERSHIN) and Nox
(WITHERSHIN, PRAY FOR LOCUST, RIKET) joined and the journey began to take
shape.
Together they formed the band WORMWOOD and released their debut EP in 2015,
The Void – Stories From the Whispering Well.
A record where they mixed folk, black and rock'n roll. Lyrics based on old
Scandinavian folk tales.
With a sense of unfulfillment they began to reshape their sound. After a
toilsome year of live performances and creating new music, all of the songs
where done and the next step was to record it. Sverker Widgren (DEMONICAL, DIABOLICAL) was the first choice, so
WORMWOOD entered Wing Studios to record Ghostlands – Wounds From a
Bleeding Earth (release date in spring 2017). The final product was an
ethereal mix of genres, black metal, folk, rock. All this was combined in an
atmospherical undertone.
The album was recorded and WORMWOOD released their music video,
Godless Serenade, which was shot up in the high north of Sweden, far above
the arctic circle. Some of the shot was also done outside of Stockholm, where
the director Isak Skagerström lives. The music video was a success and
the hunt for a label ensued. After a while, a perfect home was found; Non Serviam
Records. They had the perfect vision for WORMWOOD. Fruitful years
are surely to come.
2017 will be the year of WORMWOOD. Be a part of this monumental journey.

Blackened Death Metal bands of these days, they are Diabolical from
Sweden, a band that has proved through the years to be on top of what is made on
extreme metal camp!
Rui Gonçalves (RüPä), founder of this non-profit volunteer metal support
team comments: "It's a big honour for me particularly and for all our team to support the
band Diabolical from Sweden!
I was introduced to the band when Carl Stjärnlöv was recruited to do bass
duties on Devian some good pack of years ago. A band that we supported at
that time and that sadly put an end to their career. At that time I was already
aware of the great potential and quality of Diabolical. Since that time I
kept my ears close to their work.
Recently my good friend Carl was introducing Diabolical new
material to me, I can only say that it was the best Death Black Metal material I
heard, honestly "Neogenesis"
has the best extreme metal sound I've heard in some time! I couldn't do other
than to offer our services to the band and help with all our care and devotion,
look forwards for the future of this cooperation. As always we, the active
supporting fans, can make the difference... be sure of that and support the work

is an old friend of mine and I was very pleased when he offered us the

Ever since DIABOLICAL was formed in
Sundsvall, Sweden, in 1996 the band has caused confusion among the
narrow-minded, constantly progressing, refusing to do the expected. Already with
their early efforts "Deserts of Desolation" (mini album, 2000) and
"Synergy"(2001) DIABOLICAL stood out as something different
from the death metal bands coming up at the time, representing something
unwilling to be categorized easily. The reception from fans and media was very
good, resulting in a lot of coverage in major metal press at the time.
Following the success of the second full-length album "A Thousand Deaths"(2002) the band toured Europe several times in 2002-03 with
AMON AMARTH, VOMITORY and DEFLESHED among others, co-headlined Open Hell
festival (2002) and Kaltenbach Open Air (2003) and played several
other festivals as well. The albums were later re-released in South America, and
both albums were released in the USA as well.
2004-2008 the band only did few live appearances mainly due to Widgren’s
intense and increasing work schedule producing other bands at his Necromorbus
Studio.
But in 2008, after several years of record label related problems,
DIABOLICAL returned with full force and delivered a milestone in their
discography; taking their innovative death metal a huge step further they
plunged the listener into the darkest corners of the human mind, bringing
restrained aggression and cravings for vengeance to life in "The Gallery of
Bleeding Art". The album received brilliant reviews and was followed by two
small but very successful headline tours though Europe.
In January 2011"Ars Vitae" was released, containing 17 tracks
from different parts of the band's career. The newest material was recorded at
Necromorbus Studio in 2010, and was again produced by founding
band-member Sverker Widgren. The band did several tours between 2010
and 2011 in Europe and Russia in support of "Ars Vitae".
In 2012 an announcement was made that a new album was in the making.
Entitled "Neogenesis"
it stands out as something truly unique. The album raises the bar for
concept albums as it apart from being a music album also is a novel. Uniting
every song with a chapter of the book the music, lyrics, storytelling and
philiosphy of "Neogenesis" blends together to create a profound
experience that will surely leave a deep impression on the listener.
"Neogenesis" will be released on the 27th of September 2013.
