Melodic Death Metal band MOONSHADE from Portugal have released an astonishing new videoclip for the title track of their debut full-length "Sun Dethroned", out since October 2018 via Art Gates Records. The new and amazing video was directed by no other than Guilherme Henriques who is famous for his work with bands such as Belphegor, Hideous Divinity, Malevolent Creation, Noctem, etc.

"Sun Dethroned" album is “a conceptual work that deals with a two-sided personification of the human condition, in the form of two romantically involved main characters that symbolize the abstract concepts of ‘good’ and ‘evil’: Lenore and God of Nothingness, the latter represented in the album cover”. As MOONSHADE further explain:

“Throughout this piece a story is told of which the most important events are the death of Lenore (“good”), that leads God of Nothingness (“evil”) towards a spiraling descent into wrath and madness, eventually consuming all reality, including himself, finally abandoning his pitiful existence in a sea of regrets where, in essence, he mourns his lost love and mourns the innocence of his madness. In short, Sun Dethroned functions as a parabola that highlights the need for balance while firmly stating the cost of its absence.” [ Source : NO CLEAN SINGING ]

Os Moonshade são uma banda de metal lusitano, formada em 2010. Após uma demo e um EP, a banda lançou recentemente o seu álbum de estreia - o épico conceptual "Sun Dethroned" (Art Gates Records, 2018). Trazem-nos uma história protagonizada por deuses caídos, caos, desespero e morte, pisando terras algarvias pela primeira vez e trazendo consigo o derradeiro pôr-do-sol.

Os convidados especiais Sacred Sin são verdadeiros pioneiros do som extremo em Portugal. O seu death metal de sonoridade incrivelmente característica trouxe-lhes uma carreira de sucesso e longevidade invejáveis, culminando no lançamento da sua última obra aclamada pela crítica - "Grotesque Destructo Art" (Chaosphere, 2017).

Shadowmare são uma banda de metal experimental oriunda do Algarve. Nascidos da junção de membros de varias bandas da cena algarvia como Deathland, Stronger Device e Sarcastic Mind, trazem consigo o seu magnum opus “Shades of the Untold”, uma obra de ecletismo invejável e munida de uma agressividade única.

DEMONICAL arose from the ashes of formerly disbanded Centinex in 2006, and in comparison to its older sibling, executes death metal in a far more impetuous and melodic manner. "Chaos Manifesto" is a testament to that statement. After nearly five years since the release of the last full-length album "Darkness Unbound" (2013), the Swede's - now led by a new prominent death growler Alexander Högbom (October Tide, Centinex) - continue the traditional DEMONICAL path with fierce HM-2 driven death metal of utter brutality, yet return in a partially new, yet fully fit five-piece line-up.

From the violent album opener "A Void Most Obscure", via melodic mid-tempo anthems "Towards Greater Gods" and "Välkommen Undergång" (the band's first ever track is Swedish), all the way to the final song "Nightbringer", DEMONICAL once again prove that they're a force to be reckoned with in the extreme metal scene. The five-year gap between albums has not made the band become stale in ideas, either:

"Chaos Manifesto features some new elements and streaks the band hasn’t explored before" - comments bassist, Martin Schulman. "We have tapped an award-winning Swedish producer and we are confident that the album - which summons bits and pieces from all our previous releases - will become an improved quality-related chapter for Demonical, and push our Swedish Death Metal Darkness to a new level".

"Chaos Manifesto" was recorded in 2017 and both mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (Terra Tenebrosa, Cult of Luna, Katatonia). The album artwork was designed by Karmazid (Urfaust, Wolfbrigade, Blaze of Perdition). Pehr Skjoldhammer of Alfahanne guest appears on vocals.

The Poles ETHELYN are already since 1995 on the way on dark musical paths. By the end of 2012 they released their latest opus “No Glory To The God“ via Psycho Records.
Here is played traditional Black Metal. Riddled with some melodic Death Metal elements it originates the typical bands' sound. Extensive riffs and the constantly present drumming give the production hardness and beauty at the same time. It originates pitch-black musical worlds which reflect hopelessness and coldness. Sorrow and hate implemented in notes. This depressing atmosphere continuous continues at the all in all ten songs. By the game with melodies and tempi develops a certain dynamics which becomes “No Glory To The God“. The emphatic growls give the main points. You can hear here that there are definitely no novices at work. The gents know what they want and implement this. “No Glory To The God“ got a very good cd which I can only recommend to each Black Metal fan!!!!

The Canadians PRONOSTIC are already since 2010 musically active. Last year they put their cd “Deviated Inner Spectrum“ in in-house production on the market.
After an melodic instrumental intro shows “Methylated Perception“ straight and without detours where PRONOSTIC will go here musically. You can hear here Melodic Death Metal. The forceful, aggressive Death Metal frameworks are wrapped with melodic elements a la IN FLAMES and co. Thereof develop eight songs which come into play a deadly symbiosis between hardness and beauty. Long, melodic riffs which are played very diversified mingle with powerful drumming and give the production the necessary bite. Thereby PRONOSTIC are successful in being musically independent without sounding like a cover band. The change of clean vocals and growls shows innovation as well as the power of the band. PRONOSTIC play very technical and ambitious which rounds off the general impression positively. Who are into Melodic Death Metal should listen to “Deviated Inner Spectrum“ by all means!!!!
