Portuguese melodic death metal band MOONSHADE have revealed their new single and lyric video for the song "Blood of Titans" to be featured on the band second album "As We Set the Skies Ablaze" to be released on the 22nd of July 2022!

Sisyphus, punished by the gods for his pettyness, doomed to a kafkaesque existence?
Or Prometheus, punished by the gods for the glory of bringing Fire to Man?

In 2010, guitarist Pedro Quelhas and drummer Cristiano Brito left
gothic rock band Deep Cut, determined to venture into a new project. Soon
after, they joined forces with guitarist Dinis Martins, bassist Rúben
Oliveira and lead singer Ricardo Pereira, and founded Moonshade.
Influenced at first by northern Europe’s recent wave of melodic death metal
bands, and with a clear goal of combining melodic and extreme elements, they
released “The Path Of Redemption”, their first EP, which came out solely
in digital format and was produced by Pedro Quelhas himself. After a few
concerts, came the first lineup changes: Cristiano and Rúben left
the band and bassist Afonso Aguiar joined the ranks.
In 2014, the band released their second EP, entitled “Dream | Oblivion” –
their first work to be released in physical form. The album, which featured
Luís Neto as a session drummer, was also produced by Pedro Quelhas,
and its release was accompanied by the release of the “Goddess Eternal”
single, as well as the addition of drummer Sandro Rodrigues to the lineup.
In 2015, guitarist Daniel Laureano and keyboard player Nuno Barbosa
joined the band, marking the dawn of a new era for Moonshade, who
spent the next couple of years performing on some of Portugal’s biggest stages,
such as Vagos Open Air, Pax Julia Metal Fest and Morbid Spring Fest,
among others.
At the tail end of 2017, Afonso left the band and keyboardist Nuno became
the band’s new bass player, a function he accumulated with his former one. This
lineup recorded the “Sun Dethroned” album, the band’s debut full length.
The record, a conceptual piece exploring the balance between good and evil, and
its necessity in life, was released by Spanish label Art Gates Records,
in 2018.
After a string of successful shows and Sandro’s departure, the band
announced their first international shows, as part of the Dethroning Stars
Tour, alongside fellow northern Portuguese band Apotheus, and
featuring Diogo Mota as a live drummer.
Already peeking at their tenth anniversary, Moonshade are more alive than
ever, in their constant aim to musically redefine the beauty within chaos, death
and despair

BIOGRAPHY:
In 2010, guitarist Pedro Quelhas and drummer Cristiano Brito left
gothic rock band Deep Cut, determined to venture into a new project. Soon
after, they joined forces with guitarist Dinis Martins, bassist Rúben
Oliveira and lead singer Ricardo Pereira, and founded Moonshade.
Influenced at first by northern Europe’s recent wave of melodic death metal
bands, and with a clear goal of combining melodic and extreme elements, they
released “The Path Of Redemption”, their first EP, which came out solely
in digital format and was produced by Pedro Quelhas himself. After a few
concerts, came the first lineup changes: Cristiano and Rúben left
the band and bassist Afonso Aguiar joined the ranks.
In 2014, the band released their second EP, entitled “Dream | Oblivion” –
their first work to be released in physical form. The album, which featured
Luís Neto as a session drummer, was also produced by Pedro Quelhas,
and its release was accompanied by the release of the “Goddess Eternal”
single, as well as the addition of drummer Sandro Rodrigues to the lineup.
In 2015, guitarist Daniel Laureano and keyboard player Nuno Barbosa
joined the band, marking the dawn of a new era for Moonshade, who
spent the next couple of years performing on some of Portugal’s biggest stages,
such as Vagos Open Air, Pax Julia Metal Fest and Morbid Spring Fest,
among others.
At the tail end of 2017, Afonso left the band and keyboardist Nuno became
the band’s new bass player, a function he accumulated with his former one. This
lineup recorded the “Sun Dethroned” album, the band’s debut full length.
The record, a conceptual piece exploring the balance between good and evil, and
its necessity in life, was released by Spanish label Art Gates Records,
in 2018.
After a string of successful shows and Sandro’s departure, the band
announced their first international shows, as part of the Dethroning Stars
Tour, alongside fellow northern Portuguese band Apotheus, and
featuring Diogo Mota as a live drummer.
Already peeking at their tenth anniversary, Moonshade are more alive than
ever, in their constant aim to musically redefine the beauty within chaos, death
and despair

MOONSHADE - NEW BAND LINEUP | NEW DAWN!

Portuguese sensation melodic death metal band MOONSHADE have announced the most recent band lineup update with the incursion of new drummer and guitarist!
The band comments: "Moonshade lives.
Two new wraith commanders have joined the legion. Luís Dias will be unblessing beautiful melodies behind the six-string, while Fernando Maia will be unleashing fury behind the drumkit. These two amazingly talented musicians can also be heard on their progressive metal project - Phase Transition. Show PT some love, if you are so inclined!
Meanwhile, Diogo Mota will remain making magic behind the kit for the writing and recording of Sun Dethroned's follow-up, after which Fernando Maia will take up all the joys and sorrows of being the band's drummer, both live and composition-wise. We welcome both Maia and Luís with a full heart and believe that their titanic talent and amazing personalities will be paramount for providing you with something of hightened grandeur.
In short, this new incarnation of Moonshade will be haunting you from now on.

Larvae Records
label in collaboration with
Nightfear Productions. They couldn't pick a better day for it's release
since also today that band celebrates 9 years of existence!
SKINNING
play some of the most brutal death metal being made in Portugal and "Homicidal
Experimentations" is a fine example of that. In the same vein as the
previous two albums he northern Portuguese duo follow their musical path through brutal
death metal, something that they have already got us used to until now.
"Homicidal Experimentations"
was an album that took more than the desired time to be released, this since the band
wanted to release it within a month and then hit the road to
promote it. Due to COVID-19 pandemics everything got pretty much on hold and allot needed to be re-planned!
It's about time to get the album out with the support of the new label!
