Our Former guitarist Sigurd [1993-2006] who marched with me around the globe wrote three songs on this monster. "World Domination" is a gateway to old and new DEMONICAL. The band's sixth album marks the debut for vocalist Christofer Sätderdal and the return for original drummer Ronnie Bergerstål (2006-2011, 2019-present). There are no major changes to the band's proven formula of brutal, melodic and insolently Swedish death metal. "World Domination" picks up where 2018's "Chaos Manifesto" left off, with a touch of extra dynamics and vibrancy that enrich the band's sound.

The band commented: "World Domination continues the same path as our previous Chaos Manifesto slap, in other words, fierce HM-2 driven Swedish death metal, a ravage combination of brutality, melody and darkness. As always on every album, even this time we tried out some new traces and elements we haven’t explored before and have to say that we are stoked about the final outcome. When it comes to the production, this is clearly our most dynamic and vivid album so far. Not only did we use a different way of recording everything, we went also for a much more energetic and breathing sound closer to how albums were produced in the late 80’s and early 90’s."

"World Domination" was recorded in June 2020 at Glashuset and Sellnoise studios by Johan Hjelm and Jonas Arnberg, with production by DEMONICAL. Mixing and mastering was handled by award winning producer Karl Daniel Lidén Produktion (Bloodbath, Katatonia). Artwork and photos by Susan Wicher, Mark Riddick and Jens Rydén. Guest vocals by Patrik Johansson. *

The cover art has been created by Joe A. Arca (Dragonfly, Noctem, Coffeinne ...) and represents all of Gwydion history, in this case it shows the Battle of Trees (Cad Goddeu) where Gwydion animates the trees of the forest to fight as his army.

The nine-song effort was mixed and mastered by bass player Anders Backelin (Lord Belial, Death Tyrant) at Armageddon Recordings.

“North” is moving away from tight structural extreme music and wants to bring back the soul of the old greats. The record is an epic journey across blackened death metal with the band's very own, unique flare to it.

The stunning artwork was created by Juanjo Castellano Rosado (UNLEASHED, The Black Dahlia Murder, VARATHRON, Vomitory, a.o.).

The band explains: “We envisioned ourselves to create something that was lost after the 90’s era, embracing the freedom of musical structures and boundaries to create something which speaks from within. This album is a vision of what we believe was missing from that era with a purpose to bring back the soul of the old greats. This album is the creation from many years of hardships, translated and formed to art through musical expression. As entities, as humans, we have been put aside to bury the raging feelings from within and never to express them. We understood that not expressing ourselves would be our demise. As a dam breaking, flooding with energy, this was created to tell the story of our lives and to express ourselves through art. The album artwork and the songs themselves tells a story about an Internal journey, of ominous visions through dreams, touching the subjects of ancient wisdoms long forgotten, cursed bloodlines”.
