Norway's melodic extreme metallers SUSPERIA, comprising former members of Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon , have inked a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to release their long-awaited new album, "The Lyricist". By the same token, SUSPERIA will close the eight-year gap that separates their last opus, "Attitude"" (2009).

"The Lyricist" will be the first studio album to showcase new vocalist, Bernt Fjellestad (a.k.a. Dagon, central figure in the picture), whose official stage debut with the band was made at last year's 70000tons Of Metal Festival at sea.

The band commented on the signing and upcoming material: "Susperia is proud to announce the signing with Agonia Records for our upcoming album "The Lyricist". It’s going to be a harder and more grim album, going back to Susperia’s black roots!".

SUSPERIA may have their roots in the Norwegian black metal scene, but it is merely a starting point for a band that describes their music as "extreme metal with melodic twists". A simple philosophy of "no boundaries" demonstrates that the band has no hesitation in embracing and exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease.

The origins of the Oslo based group can be traced back to 1998 when Tjodalv, then occupying the drum seat with Dimmu Borgir, and long-time friend Cyrus (ex-Satyricon, Old Man's Child) got together to share ideas and write songs. A chance meeting between vocalist Athera and Tjodalv at 1999’s Wacken Festival in Germany would lead to the completion of the SUSPERIA line-up, as Athera brought in also two other members - bass guitarist Memnock and guitarist Elvorn.

The band's line-up can easily be described as a long-lasting one, with all original members in place since its inception, and the exception of Dagon filling in Athera's boots, after the latter's departure in 2015. But even Dagon isn't new to SUSPERIA. He performed with it on several occasions as a live mussician, at times Athera had other engagements. Primarily a heavy metal signer, Dagon has mastered also other vocal techincs, performing with the band. Nowadays, there's new found confidence and determination running through the SUSPERIA camp.

With five studo albums under the belt and an etiquette of a powerful live act, SUSPERIA has consistently remained focused on the live area. The band's numerous high profile shows include supports to W.A.S.P., In Flames, Destruction and Dimmu Borgir, as well as headline and festival appearances. One of the group’s most cherished experiences thus far, remains the invitation to be the main support to the newly reformed Testament, in late 2005.

Hailing from Poland, the epic black / death metallers of DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS will release their new album, “The I” on September 22nd, 2017 via Lifeforce Records. The album will be available as CD digipak, limited vinyl LP and digital download.

Recorded at various studios, including Dobra 12 Studio (drums) and Icaros Studio (guitars) the disc was mixed and mastered at Impressive-Art Studio by Przemyslaw Nowak who also handled vocals recording sessions and guitars’ re-amping. The album’s artwork, design and layout were created by Infected Minds. Photo session by Robert Zembrzycki and Pawel Kowalski of BandPhoto

The album features special guest appearances by MERCYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND’s guitarist Mike Wead and by Norway’s dark metal masters AETERNUS’ vocalist / guitarist Ares. Other artists who also contributed to the record are shamanic ritual meditative experimental act BÖN and Impressive-Art Studio’s owner PRZEMYSLAW NOWAK who came up with interludes, additional background tunes and effects.

“It’s been a really long way to be finally able to wrap it all up, countless nights spent on writing the music and lyrics first, then working on the album’s pre-production, followed by what seemed to be never-ending, proper recording sessions, and tones of work that had to be done for the band afterwards. We really wanted this new album to become something really special and therefore, to avoid any haphazard decisions, we let them come out of us smoothly, without putting ourselves under any external tension and stuff. Did it pay off? Well, we’ll see… We surely worked our asses off, pushed things back and forth to get the best out of it. As a result we’ve got something we are damn proud of, something that we believe surpasses on all possible levels everything we’ve done in the past. I simply believe we’d outdone ourselves and recorded something that will cause your hearts beat faster…” – comments Quazarre, the band’s composer, vocalist and guitarist.

The title chosen, “The I”, for the record is not only a phonetic acronym of the band’s name, but above all it reflects the manifesto they stand for since the Horde’s inception in the year 2000 – the notion of freedom of choice and will. A supremacy of an individual over any external factors being imposed on us by others, with special emphasis on religion and its convictions, dogmas and paradigms. “The I” is a rebellious manifesto targeted against all those who stand opposed to anything that drives us towards individual perfection.

Swedish death black metallers DIABOLICAL are looking for a live drummer to fill in for Pär on our shows from the second half of 2017 and onwards, as he will be unable to travel for some time due to private reasons. To be clear: Pär is not leaving the band and his work with the band upcoming album is above all expectations.

DIABOLICAL are looking for someone with great musical skills who has touring experience, is comfortable playing to programmed click tracks, able to attend rehearsals regularly, able handle basic tech (pads etc.), flexible and a quick learner.

The band is located in Stockholm, Sweden. We will be considering all applications but it's obviously a plus if you are not located on the other side of the planet.

No criminal record that can cause problems applying for visas (you need to be able to travel also outside Europe, incl. USA, Japan etc.).

Please write the band with as much information about yourself as possible; musical background as well as goals and visions with your music. Videos of you playing is appreciated, preferably recent videos that are representative of your level and style as a drummer.

BIOGRAPHY:

In 2014 when Rydsheim, Jothun and Borka wanted to create something together.
Rydsheim and Borka was in a band together called ÅSKFÖDD which had gathered notoriety in the folk scene around Stockholm, Sweden. Jothun had been in various bands before but nothing which caught his interest. The trio started to play black'n roll but lacked a vocalist and a steady second guitarist. After a few months Nine (WITHERSHIN) and Nox (WITHERSHIN, PRAY FOR LOCUST, RIKET) joined and the journey began to take shape.
Together they formed the band WORMWOOD and released their debut EP in 2015, The Void – Stories From the Whispering Well.
A record where they mixed folk, black and rock'n roll. Lyrics based on old Scandinavian folk tales.

With a sense of unfulfillment they began to reshape their sound. After a toilsome year of live performances and creating new music, all of the songs where done and the next step was to record it.
Sverker Widgren (DEMONICAL, DIABOLICAL) was the first choice, so WORMWOOD entered Wing Studios to record Ghostlands – Wounds From a Bleeding Earth (release date in spring 2017). The final product was an ethereal mix of genres, black metal, folk, rock. All this was combined in an atmospherical undertone.

The album was recorded and WORMWOOD released their music video, Godless Serenade, which was shot up in the high north of Sweden, far above the arctic circle. Some of the shot was also done outside of Stockholm, where the director Isak Skagerström lives. The music video was a success and the hunt for a label ensued. After a while, a perfect home was found; Non Serviam Records. They had the perfect vision for WORMWOOD. Fruitful years are surely to come.

2017 will be the year of WORMWOOD. Be a part of this monumental journey. We have such sights to show the world.

Os alemães GutFuck tiveram, infelizmente, que cancelar a sua presença.

Recordamos que o evento vai ter lugar nos dias 21 a 23 de Julho, no Rex Bowling Club em Cantahede. Os bilhetes para os 3 dias já estão disponíveis no nosso site www.xxxickenparty.com e têm um custo de 50 euros até ao próximo dia 31 de Maio! Após esta data o preço passa para 55 euros até ao dia 18 de Julho e passará a ser 60 euros à porta no dia. Os bilhetes de cada dia terão o custo de 28 euros e deverão estar disponíveis brevemente, juntamente com os horários das actuações das bandas.

French death/grindcore band Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition (S.C.D.) are returning to Portugal. They are our latest adition to this year's billing, along with the spanish band Gruesome Stuff Relish and Reincarnation and the portuguese groups Shoryuken, Undersave and Burned Blood, thus closing this year's poster!

These new confirmations will join the previously confirmed Cephalic Carnage, Dead, Inhume, Milking The Goatmachine, Craniotomy, Necrovile, Serrabulho, Cumbeast, Mixomatosis, Slamentation, SpermBloodShit, R.D.B., Basement Torture Killings, Dead Meat, Placenta Powerfist, Rabid Dogs, Braincasket, GutFuck, Vai-te Foder, Sodomized Cadaver, Sadistic Emergency, Ass Deep Tongued, CxBxFxIxHxFxLxFxRxE, Rectal Depravity e Nihility. Notice that the previously confirmed GutFuck canceled their presence.

If you are looking for a festival that combines high quality extreme music with a summer party ambiance this is the right festival for you! You will find quality camping just outside the venue, a beautiful beach within short distance and a shuttle bus to take you there, a huge venue with a giant screen, swiming pool,bowling alleys and arcade games to spend extra time.

We remind you that the event will take place from the 21st to the 23rd of July at the Rex Bowling Club in Cantanhede. The early bird 3 days-passes costs 50€ and are available on our website www.xxxickenparty.com until the 31st of May! The price of 55€ applies after that date until the 18th of July. At the door we'll have 3-day tickets for the price of 60€. Single day tickets price is 28€ and should be available soon.
