The Swedish melodic folk/black metal-band WORMWOOD who have relesed this year the new album "The Star" via Black Lodge Records have announced their new drummer Simon Samuelsson.

The band comments:
"For most of the past year, we've had the pleasure of having Simon Samuelsson behind the drums. He joined us on short notice and has consistently demonstrated remarkable technical skill and a keen musical ear.
With that, we are thrilled to officially welcome him to Wormwood!"

Comment from Simon: "I'm incredibly grateful for the trust. It's been an absolute blast so far, and I'm excited for the journey ahead with the band!"

In addition, the band has already begun sneaking in some writing sessions for new material before they shift their focus back to live performances next year.

"Stay tuned for what's to come - Rock will be rocked!" the band adds!

The band comments: "So, here we go! After a period of diligent work and a long wait filled with anticipation, we are finally able to present The Star to you all — our fourth full-length album.
The majority of the songs were composed toward the end of 2022, recorded during the second half of 2023, and have since been meticulously refined and allowed to mature until now. We deeply appreciate all the support we have received from you thus far and hope that this album will also meet your expectations.
As a band, we are now embarking on a new era.

BIOGRAPHY:

Formed in 2014, Wormwood have had quite the musical journey. Starting off as a black'n roll band, then turned into a melodic black metal band with folk and rock influences. Now, they have advanced to their true form, which is an unique take on Scandinavian black metal.

Lyrical themes goes from the vastness of the cosmos, northern lore, the hardships of the 1800-hundreds and the fall of mankind.
