HATE BIOGRAPHY
With a dozen ferocious and lauded albums since 1996's Daemon Qui Fecit Terram,
Hate's lucky thirteenth album, Bellum Regiis, sees the unrelenting
Polish quartet forging a bolder and more aggressive style than ever. Bellum
Regiis' nine songs see vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, guitarist
Domin, drummer Nar-Sil, and bassist Tiermes honing a modern
sound rife with eerie atmosphere and depth. Produced by David Castillo (Candlemass,
Carcass, Dark Tranquility, Katatonia) at Stockholm's Grondahl Studio,
Bellum Regiis is lyrically a more "humanity focused and personal"
album than Rugia. Bellum Regiis' songs, explains founder Sinner,
are a timely aural and visual exploration of "a struggle for power and
everything that comes with it."
Hate, who formed in Warsaw in 1990, have been hailed as a "hallmark of
consistency," and praised as a "sleek and tight death metal monster."
Since 2017's Tremendum, Hate has focused on nature and its mysteries as a
main source of inspiration. As Sinner explains, "Whether that's the
nature within us, around us or that we see from afar, the perspectives gained
and how they relate to different overarching themes have driven each album."
For instance, 2019's Auric Gates of Veles focused on death, the Slavic
perception of death in particular. Six years later, Bellum Regiis finds
Hate delving into "humanity and why are we, as creatures, so deeply
motivated by concepts like power, wealth, glory and faith. The main theme is a
struggle for power and everything that comes with it."
Hence the album title Bellum Regiis, which translates to "A War of
Royalty" or "A War of Kings."Sinner looks at the hard
questions surrounding power-does its attainment make us aberrant or are we
aberrant to begin with? The title track encompasses the LP's leitmotif. "As a
song, 'Bellum Regiis' has both a deep melancholy and a sense of grandeur,"
says Sinner. "The vocals laid down by Eliza Sacharczuk (a
renowned singer and voice teacher who runs a holistic arts center in Bialystok)
give the song a strong sense of time. Whether that's nostalgia,
reminiscence, regret, or preparation for the future is in the eye of the
beholder. These wars, these struggles, have been ongoing since the dawn of our
existence," the frontman notes. "Whether they are futile or not, they are
scars on our very nature."
While Hate used "Bellum Regiis" as a guiding phrase since an early
point in the songwriting, the first song worked up was "Alfa Inferi Goddess
of War." The last written was "Ageless Harp of Devilry," which both
sums up what the album is about but also sheds new light on some of the record's
strongest themes. "It's the track that most reminds me of our 2010 record
Erebos. It's like a perfect combination of 'mechanical' riffs and
atmospheric black metal tunes." In the compositions, Hate also drew
inspiration from Ancient Greek literature in general, and the Iliad in
particular.
Sinner's philosophical side prospered during long conversations and
musings in walks around Warsaw with his friend Benek Babalon, who drew
the frontman's attention to the tale of Iphigenia. In fact, Bellum Regiis'
first single is "Iphigenia" who, in Greek mythology, was a daughter of
King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra. Music was written first, and Sinner
found her story connected beautifully with it. "It's about sacrificing your
life for a greater cause. The example of Iphigenia is striking because she is
given a choice to save her own life, yet she decides to be put to death, and in
this way help support the Greek side in the Trojan War."
Sinner's initial concept for the cover art was fantastically executed by
Daniel Rusiłowicz. The strong and profound visual piece of art portrays a
king who has clearly endured hardship and struggles. "He's like someone
standing in front of a precipice, on the brink of collapse,"
Sinner says. "He's lost everything except the crown - the only visible
mark of his former greatness. Yet, he still holds some dignity, some spark of
that 'Stirps Regia' - the law that comes from his ancestry. He holds onto it
against all odds."
Fans may notice some commonality between Erebos and Bellum Regiis
in the character of the compositions and overall sound, with Bellum Regiis
being richer in style and with more black-metal elements to it. "Between
female vocals, orchestration, samples, acoustic guitars, there are a lot of
moving pieces that help set this album apart," says Sinner about
Hate's latest. "My vocals have also changed quite a bit over the years.
They're more nuanced and wider-ranging, able to portray emotions and meanings in
a more powerful way."
"The Vanguard" is one of the most epic tracks on the album and also the
fastest. "It was quite a challenge to record the drums, but Nar-Sil
did a great job. The song has a bellicose character and follows the literal
definition of 'vanguard,' meaning a frontmost part of an advancing army,"Sinner explains, "mercilessly destroying the land of an enemy.
Lyrically, I use the Scythian conquests as an example of a brutal, ferocious
invasion force, but it's a ritual of pretty much every war we observe today as
well."
Helping Hate to achieve their aggressive but humananistic sonic goals
were, in addition to Sacharczuk ("the album could not have sounded the
same without her"), composer Michał Staczkun. The longtime collaborator,
who has worked with the band on every Hate album since Erebos,
contributes sound design across various tracks. Producer David Castillo
harnesses Hate's pure metal power on Bellum Regiis, hitting hard
without sacrificing equally powerful traces of the song's humanity. "It's not
an easy tightrope to walk," notes Sinner, "but David
achieved it beautifully. It was a real pleasure working with him on this
record."
More than three decades into a stellar career, Bellum Regiis finds
Sinner as profound and poetic than ever, if not more so. To wit, "A Ghost
of Lost Delight," a song possessed of a strange melancholy and meditation.
Delving into the cycles of life and death, Hate ultimatley offer a
powerful and positive entreaty for hope in dark times, as pertinent in 2025 as
in eons past. As Sinner sings: "In darkness we crawl toward the
starlight / In a race against the flow / We saved our world from oblivion /
Ghosts of lost delight… now live!"

BLACK ALTAR BIOGRAPHY
Anno Bastardi 1996
In the darkest abyss of chaos where time and space are impenetrable, Black
Altar came into existence. It took its earthly shape during blasphemous
Sabbath in the Night of Walpurgia Anno Bastardi 1996, when it was summoned by
the voice of Shadow. He, as the first guardian of Black Altar,
have started an unholy crusade, thus awaking fear and pain among the
hypocritical and hideous christian lambs.
1997
The first stroke into their rotten system of values was a demo entitled "Na
Uroczysku..." (On a secret place..) which gained a recognition among several
groups of listeners. It was recorded by Shadow in 1997 at Selani
Studio with the help of Doc (RIP), Vader's drummer, in the role of a
music engineer. Released under Shadow's own label - Odium Rec.,
the first issue of 500 copies was sold out rapidly, making the name of Black
Altar popular in Poland and in other countries as well.
2003/2004
In September 2003 at Selani Studio Black Altar recorded their debut album
entitled "Black Altar". It was a great improvement in the development of
the band. The new hymns are still more extreme and more technical. "Black
Altar" was mixed and mastered at Studio X. For the track "Fire ov
Immortal Self" a professional video was recorded. In April 2004 the material
is released in the form of CD and a gate-fold LP by the German Christhunt
Productions. Odium Rec released a limited to 666 copies hand-numbered with
corpse blood cassette version of "Black Altar".
2006
After releasing the debut album Shadow parts with his musicians and as of
that moment Black Altar became temporarily a one-man band. In 2006
WarKult Prod from Peru released remastered version of Black Altar "Wrath
ov the Gods" (with 4 bonus tracks) as split, slip case cd, with Nebular
Mystic (Nor).
In October 2006 Black Altar finished record session of their second
album called "Death Fanaticism".
2008
2nd album "Death Fanaticism" was released on cd by Odium Records.

limited to 300 copies and Propaganda Records (Ukr) pro tape limited to
666 copies.
On October 2009 7 Gates Rec (Pol) released digi pack A5 version of " Death
Fanaticism" album, limited to 500 copies. First 100 with a t-shirt.
2010
On July 2010 Black Altar recorded tracks for mini album "Suicidal
Salvation" and for the split Black Altar/Varathron/Thornspawn during
the same session.
2013
On January 2013 Black Altar / Varathron / Thornspawn "Emissaries of the
Darkened Call" split was finally unleashed by Odium Records as a
jewel case cd version and as a deluxe gatefold vinyl limited to 350 copies on
black, and to 150 copies on clear vinyl by Floga Rec/Hellsfire Rec from
Greece. Moreover, the A5 digipack was released via Black Saw Prod (Mex) and

box via RawBlackKult Prod from Bolivia. There were 3 new tracks of
Black Altar + intro and outro.
Also mini album "Suicidal Salvation" was released by Darker Than Black
Records on digipack cd.

serves as a prequel to the dark and intricate story surrounding the asylum "Zornheim",
its inmates and their doctors - where it is never quite clear who is truly
insane.
"In an era obsessed with speed and instant results, we chose substance over
shortcuts. This album was forged over years of relentless writing, arranging and
refining. Every decision mattered. Every layer was earned. Nothing was rushed,
nothing was accidental: until the vision stood complete,"the band
comments."'Somewhere Far Beyond' is the first glimpse into this
new chapter: a prequel that takes us back to the moment when Dr. Bettelheim
first arrives at Zornheim, long before the madness fully unfolds. The

ZORNHEYM BIOGRAPHY
ZORNHEYM was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, as an ambitious vision by its
creator, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Zorn (ex-Dark Funeral),
with the goal of realizing his interpretation of the ultimate concept band - a
complete fusion of music, narrative, and visual storytelling. Since its
inception, the band has set out to redefine the traditional "metal meets
symphony" approach, developing a sound that blends cinematic orchestration
with a powerful heavy metal backbone and strong influences from melodic death
metal, all driven by a distinct sense for epic, memorable melodies.
At the core of
ZORNHEYM lies a dark and expanding narrative universe. Each album
unfolds within the walls of the mental asylum Zornheim - a place shrouded
in mystery, madness, and horror - where the institution itself becomes the
central character. Across releases, the band explores different eras of its
sinister history through layered storytelling, recurring themes, and hidden
connections. This concept was introduced on their debut album "Where Hatred
Dwells and Darkness Reigns" (2017) and further expanded on the critically
acclaimed "The Zornheim Sleep Experiment" (2021), followed by the
acoustic EP "The Forgotten Inmates" (2023), which completed the first
chapter of the asylum’s story.
ZORNHEYM’s artistic vision extends far beyond music. Their albums are
accompanied by detailed visual concepts and graphic novels, bringing the asylum
and its inmates to life in another dimension, while their music videos are
produced as short films that further immerse the audience in the band’s
universe.
On stage,
ZORNHEYM transforms into a theatrical experience led by frontman
Bendler, whose commanding presence draws the audience deep into the asylum’s
grip. On special occasions, actors become part of the performance, elevating the
show beyond a traditional concert into a dark and immersive spectacle.

DIABOLICAL COUNTRY:
SWEDEN GENRE: DEATH BLACK METAL
NeKronos Promotion is Proud to present the band of the NeKroWeek, they are
DIABOLICAL (Swedish Death Black Metal), one of the best bands in their
genre, this with such outstanding quality. DIABOLICAL are
constantly progressing, refusing to do the expected! Show your support and share this info to all your metal brotherhood if you like what you have heard!
Tracklist: 1. We
Are Diabolical 2.Betrayal 3. Black Sun 4. Failure 5. Inception 6. Hunter 7. Tyranni 8. The Fire Within 9. Requiem
DIABOLICAL BIOGRAPHY:
More than twenty years after their formation in
northern Sweden, innovative blackened death metallers DIABOLICAL proves
to be more vital than ever and puts forth “Eclipse”, a concept album
reflecting on the dark side of humanity that forces the listener to explore his
own diabolical side. The album is a tour de force with spitting musical and
aesthetic complexity swirling around a dense soundscape of excellently distilled
and refined ideas, altogether forming a rare display of musical craftsmanship
equaled by very few contemporary metal bands.
DIABOLICAL was founded in Sundsvall, Sweden back in 1996, and has since
released 5 full-length albums, in addition to two EP’s. Ever since then they
have followed no one, and no one has followed them. Already with their early
efforts “Deserts of Desolation” (mini album, 2000) and “Synergy”
(2001), DIABOLICAL stood out as something different from the death metal
bands coming up at the time, representing something unwilling to be categorized
easily. Quickly following the release of their second full length, they toured
throughout Europe several times during 2002-2003 presenting their repertoire.
Returning in 2008 with full force they delivered a milestone in their
discography. Taking their innovative death metal a huge step further, they flung
the listener into the darkest corners of the human mind, bringing to life
restrained aggression and hunger for vengeance in “The Gallery of Bleeding
Art”. The album received brilliant reviews and was followed by headline
tours throughout Europe.
In January 2011 “Ars Vitae” was released, containing 17 tracks from
different parts of the band’s career.
2013 saw the release of the band’s most ambitious album thus far.
“Neogenesis” stood out as something truly unique. The album raised the bar
for concept albums as it in addition to being a music album, it was also a
novel. Binding every song with a chapter of the book, the music, lyrics,
storytelling and philosophy of “Neogenesis” blends together to create a
profound experience that left a deep impression on fans and press. Reviews were
raving and the following European headline tours were hugely successful. The
band appeared at many festivals, toured the UK and toured Europe again
supporting Borknagar in 2016.
On their previous release, the “Umbra” EP (2016), DIABOLICAL
continued to craft inventive music, moving seamlessly between crushingly heavy
and dark to delicate and ethereal. But “Umbra” was a mere foreshadowing
of what was to come. Produced again by vocalist/guitarist Sverker Widgren
at Wing Studios in Stockholm, the new and 6th album “Eclipse”
picks up where “Umbra” left off and once again DIABOLICAL manages
to top their previous efforts.
With nine gracefully raging songs, “Eclipse” presents DIABOLICAL
as a mature and sophisticated band ascending to new heights.

DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS (Poland) some of the

death metal acts, a band of extreme metal excellence!

Music wise "Postmortem Whispering Crows" simply continues where “The
I” left off. Having introduced some rock-like solos on the latest
full-length these unreleased tracks seem to be characterized by even more open
approach to the genre. "Postmortem Whispering Crows" is an epic journey
across black death metal with the band's own, unique flare to it.
Quazarre (vocals / guitars) comments: “One of my all-time greatest inspirations has always been literature of The
Young Poland (a modernist period in Polish literature, covering roughly the
years between 1890 and 1918). The movement promoted trends of decadence,
neo-romanticism, symbolism, catastrophism and impressionism. Having quoted
‘Dzieci Szatana’ (Satans Kinder) by one of the period’s visionary Stanisław
Przybyszewski within the lyrics of our “Adventvs” EP, it’s been a logical
way for me to immerse both ‘The I’ and ‘Postmortem Whispering Crows’
EP even deeper into the decadent world of other haunted figures associated
with the philosophy of their leader. The quoted authors following the period’s
concept believed in decadence, an end of all culture, the conflict between
humans and their civilization, and the concept of art as the highest value.”
Formed in the year 2000, initially as a studio project and transformed into a
live act in 2006, Devilish Impressions is a dominant four-piece Epic
Black Death metal band that’s quickly pummeling through the genre and making
their way to fans and media around the globe.
Since the horde’s first day, the notion of freedom of choice and will has been a
highly prevalent belief and theme amongst the band’s music, imagery and overall
message. Devilish Impressions united and began the process of shaping up
their spirit and self-consciousness making their initial presence with their
debut demo “Eritis sicut Deus; Verbum Diaboli Manet in Aeternum; Vox
Vespertilio Act I – Moon Var Dies Irae” which received great attention from
fans after the band self-released it in 2002.
Once Devilish Impressions made their introduction to the metal community,
they followed up their debut release with their first full-length titled
“Plurima Mortis Imago” released in 2006 via Conquer Records. The
sophomore release proved to push the band onward as they joined forces with
Aeternus for the European “Ageless Void Tour 2006”. A lot of great
exposure landed Devilish Impressions a spot as direct support for
Marduk on the “Swords in The East” Eastern European run in 2007.
After solid touring opportunities and album promotion, Devilish Impressions
returned to the studio in May of 2007 to record their forthcoming album
titled “Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon” which was mastered by Andy
Classen at Stage One Studio (Belphegor, Krisiun, Dew Scented).
Before release of their full-length sophomore album, Devilish Impressions
appeared at the Red Alert Festival supporting bands like Deicide,
Suffocation, Benediction and Immolation. The band followed up by ending 2007
with a headliner run across Eastern Europe on the “Verbum Diaboli Tour 2007”.
Once “Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon” was released in 2008 via
Conquer Records, international praise was given by fans and press to the
band for the record, and allowed Devilish Impressions to reach new
heights in their career. The band followed up with the great success of the
album by landing a support slot on “The Apostasy European Tour” with
Behemoth and Suicide Silence as well as embarking on a tour with
Dismember in the UK and Ireland.
In 2008, Devilish Impressions was invited to partake on select shows of
“Wacken Road Show 2008” with Overkill, Tristania, Samael and Enslaved.
This opened up a solid platform for the band to release “Diabolicanos – Act
III: Armageddon” via Empire Records and greatly expand the reach of
the band’s music. The band followed up this release with a joint home country
tour called “Rebel Angels Tour Vol. 3” with Hate. The rest of 2008
proved to be extremely proactive for the band as they supported Satyricon,
were offered a co-headliner slot with Rage at Pro Rock Festival
and also appeared at Metal Heads Mission Festival with Moonspell,
Gorgoroth and Samael.
Once the band had reached this level in their career, they took time to get back
into the studio to work on their third full-length album. A lot of time and
energy was put into the new album, and “Simulacra” was released in 2012
via Lifeforce Records (EU/North America), Icaros Records (Poland),
MSR Productions (Russia, CIS) and Mort Productions (China). The
album was voted one of the best melodic black metal/metalgaze album at the 2012
Metal Storm Awards, and of course coupled with ample press and fan feedback from
around the globe. This also got the attention of The Flaming Arts Agency
that allowed the band to explore many new opportunities.
Devilish Impressions took to the road heavily in support of
“Simulacra” and appeared at notable festivals and predominant tour listed
below: · Hard Rock Laager (w/ Samael, Melechesh)
· Carpathian Alliance (co-headliner w/ Dark Funeral, Carpathian Forest)
· Castle Party
· Brutal East
· “Fear No Gods of The East Tour 2013”
· Wave Gotik Treffen (w/ Paradise Lost, Lacrimosa)
· Metal Fest Open Air (w/ Helloween, Accept, Sodom, Down, Satyricon, Destruction)
In the summer of 2013, Devilish Impressions ramped up for their next
studio session and made plans to re-enter Hertz Studio for their
forthcoming “Adventvs” EP. The new material was mixed and mastered by
Arkadiusz Malczewski at Sound Division Studio (Behemoth, Decapitated).
To round off a grandioso release, Devilish Impressions had their 2002
demo “Eritis Sicvt Devs” re-mastered and paired with “Adventvs”.
The combined album released in 2014 features over an hour of brand new and never
before heard material showcasing experimental black metal at its finest. Soon
after Devilish Impressions went on the road in support of “Adventvs”,
they got the attention from Hammerheart Records that released
“Adventvs” as 12” MLP in February 2015.
The emissaries of the devil took the surge of action with the album and hit the
road once again, spreading their message across the motherland as part of the
tour with Christ Agony and Beheaded. Shortly after, the band appeared at
NCM Festival Vol. 4 (co-headliner w/ Vader) and Dark Fest II (w/ Vader,
Decapitated, Hate and more). This left the passion raging on all levels and
gave Devilish Impressions an easy return to the studio in May 2015 to
commence the recording sessions for “The I” – the band’s fourth
full-length album which is said to be their darkest, heaviest and most
intriguing offering to date. The record features special guest appearances by
Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond) and Ares (Aeternus, ex-Gorgoroth,
ex-Immortal).
The title chosen, “The I”, for the record is not only a phonetic acronym
of the band’s name, but above all it reflects the manifesto they stand for since
the Horde’s inception in the year 2000 – the notion of freedom of choice and
will. A supremacy of an individual over any external factors being imposed on us
by others, with special emphasis on religion and its convictions, dogmas and
paradigms. “The I” is a rebellious manifesto targeted against all those
who stand opposed to anything that drives us towards individual perfection.
Ahead of the album’s release Devilish Impressions announced a long
awaited tour for their legion of fans in China and Taiwan supporting the
“Simulacra” record, released in China through Mort Productions in
September 2016. The trek lasted for nearly a month and is believed to be the
most extensive tour any foreign metal band had ever played there.
In the meantime, Devilish Impressions joins the roster of New York based
Extreme Management Group alongside notable bands such as Suffocation, Cattle
Decapitation, Origin, Cryptopsy, Atheist, Rings Of Saturn, King Parrot, Internal
Bleeding and many more. With the newfound partnership, both sides worked
together in making the band’s future endeavors the most prominent and impactful
with their fans respectively and the rest of the metal genre.
“The I” album hits the stores on September 22nd 2017, again via
Lifeforce Records. Released to a rave reviews worldwide it enables
Devilish Impressions to hit the road with Norway’s Endezzma for a row
of gigs across their motherland. This was followed by the group’s headlining
appearance at Metal Head’s Mission / Black Sea Storm Festival 2018.
In January 2019 Devilish Impressions headlined Dark Winter Meeting
Festival in Malta. June saw them touring South Asia, this time around
reaching out to fans in Indonesia (The Karnival Festival, co-headliner
with Pestilence), Hong Kong and Singapore.
Upon their return from Asia Devilish Impressions announced signing with
Non Serviam Records for the release of “Postmortem Whispering Crows”
EP – a follow up to their critically acclaimed 4th studio record “The I”.
Music wise “Postmortem Whispering Crows” simply continues where “The
I” left off. Having introduced some rock-like solos on the latest
full-length these unreleased tracks seem to be characterized by even more open
approach to the genre. “Postmortem Whispering Crows” set to be out in
September 13th 2019 is an epic journey across Black Death Metal with the band’s
own, unique flare to it.
The band has recently confirmed its appearance at Metal Mine Festival in
August (w/ Asphyx, Harakiri For The Sky) with European tour in the making.

"In an era obsessed with speed and instant results, we chose substance over
shortcuts. This album was forged over years of relentless writing, arranging and

nothing was accidental: until the vision stood complete,"the band
comments."'Somewhere Far Beyond' is the first glimpse into this

first arrives at Zornheim, long before the madness fully unfolds. The
track captures the epic choral power that defines the album, pushing our sound

ZORNHEYM are: Zorn - Guitars
Scucca - Guitars and Backing Vocals

SCARLET BEAST - LEVIATHAN DETAILS: Diabolical death black metal titans BELPHEGORhave
released a new single titled "Scarlet Beast - Leviathan" via Reigning Phoenix
Music.
With the release of "Scarlet Beast“ Leviathan", BELPHEGOR return at
their most menacing and deliberate, delivering a track that moves with the force
of an advancing colossus. Built upon lumbering, monolithic riffs and a
suffocating sense of inevitability, the single embodies a towering presence,
vast, unrelenting, and absolute.
"Scarlet Beast - Leviathan" does not chase speed; it commands submission.
Favoring tension, density, and sheer authority over velocity, the song fuses
ritualistic black metal atmosphere with the crushing weight of death metal. The
result is a sonic behemoth, oppressive, deliberate, and unstoppable, advancing
through scorched terrain with death trailing in its wake.
The single arrives as BELPHEGOR kick off
their North American "Praise The Beast" tour, carrying this new chapter
directly onto the stage. The track's immense weight and deliberate pacing
translate into a live experience built on tension and command, setting the tone
for a run that promises ritual intensity across the continent. STREAM, GET IT HERE:

Accompanying the single is a stark and uncompromising music video that
captures the essence of true darkness. Gritty and raw in execution, the visual
counterpart strips away artifice and embraces ritualistic imagery, shadow, and
decay. It is not spectacle, but invocation.
With "Scarlet Beast - Leviathan", BELPHEGOR once again
prove their mastery of controlled devastation. The beast does not rush. It
advances. And nothing stands in its path. Mixed & mastered by Tue Madsen, Antfarm Studio
All guitars, vocals & bass recorded at Studio Mischmaschine Oberalm,
Austria with Jake K.
Drums recorded in Michael Zech's Church Of Sound Studio Munich, Ger.

"THE DEVILS" DETAILS!
Diabolical death metal squadron BELPHEGOR have
released their new album "The Devils" out via Nuclear Blast Records.
Once
again their trademark sounding "Diabolical Death Metal" will be brought
to the world. The outstanding
artwork was created by Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, with exalted design
elements influenced by renaissance and middle age paintings.
With "The Devils", long-running diabolical black death metal titans BELPHEGOR unleash
their twelfth studio album upon the masses, which proves to be one of the
strongest and most elaborate records in the groups career. Mixed & mastered at
renowned Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, At
The Gates), "The Devils" sounds absolutely crushing and dynamic, sonically
pushing the immense variety of the eight tracks to new heights.
The band comments: "Hail! Today we are finally unleashing our new
album "THE DEVILS" in its entirety!
I think the greatest strength of this twelfth BELPHEGOR album are the
many new elements incorporated into our unrelenting soundwall, which illuminates
the offering shine with an evil ritualistic light. We tried to push the
boundaries as musicians and as a band to bring the eight soundcollages to a new
level of “Diabolical Black Death Metal†extremity. An intense atmosphere
was our goal. "THE DEVILS" is the perfect demonstration of how we wanted to sound in
the year 2022, every aspect expressing what we seek within BELPHEGOR!"In Musick, Helmuth
The track list for the new album is as follows: I. THE DEVILS II. TOTENTANZ - DANCE MACABRE III. GLORIFIZIERUNG DES TEUFELS IV. DAMNATION - HOLLENSTURZ V. VIRTUS ASINARIA - PRAYER VI. KINGDOM OF COLD FLESH VII. RITUS INCENDIUM DIABOLUS VIII. CREATURE OF FIRE IX. BLACKEST SABBATH 1997 [Digipak bonus track]
The dark days of autumn and winter are approaching as European troop
BELPHEGOR plant another signpost to Hell upon the Earth's surface. One of
the most consistently extreme bands on the Death/Black scene crest their throne
built of bones once again to uncompromisingly attack humanity, three years after
their 2014 demonstration of brutality, »CONJURING THE DEAD«. »TOTENRITUAL«
consists of nine compositions which, blow-by-blow, silence any doubts about
the supremacy of these icons of the European scene. Merciless riff force,
crunchy blasts in a dark setting – 24 years after their foundation, BELPHEGOR’s
inventive creativity places them head and shoulders above the rest. Anyone
looking for silence, beautiful melodies and a life-affirming aura will suffocate
under the power of »TOTENRITUAL.«
Even small interludes takes the listener to a safe place only for a short period,
before the next brutal attack follows. The eleventh studio album of the
undisputed Death/Black Metal scene conductors follows the sophisticated path of
its precursors and will have their followers kneeling down in humility. The
commander of death-sounds does not use a blunt corset of henchmen for his
attacks on society's conventions, but demonstrates his skills as a high-class
songwriter. From determined songs, embossed by an obsessed directness, to
majestic ritualistic hymns - followers of darkest sermons will be led directly
into the abyss. »TOTENRITUAL« enters mercilessly into the procession of
BELPHEGOR's works of art: another thorn in the eye of every upholder of
moral standards – the end is heralded.
For the recordings of »TOTENRITUAL«, the squad retired to Stage One
Studios in Germany and Studio Mischmaschine in Austria.
For the diabolic wall of sound, the explosive material was sent across the pond
and was refined in the Audiohammer Studios in Florida by Jason Suecof
[Mix] and Mark Lewis [Mastering]. The impressive cover artwork was again
created by the Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, who has also created the
striking visual countenance for »PESTAPOCALYPSE VI« [2006] and »CONJURING
THE DEAD« [2014].
BELPHEGOR was founded in 1993 and spread like a virus within the
underground. Meanwhile, their »BLOODBATH IN PARADISE« demo has become
legendary and paved the baleful path into the souls of thousands of listeners.
Anti-religious with nihilistic tendencies as well as provocative topics,
BELPHEGOR moved on. The debut album »The Last Supper« [1995] let the
community of followers and opponents grow. Inexorably, the band pushes their
destructive ways forward in the following years. BELPHEGOR become louder,
more obsessed and more dynamic, and their albums now have cult status. To think
about the scene doesn't work without thinking of BELPHEGOR. In 2008, the
band sent their followers to the edge of hell with »Bondage Goat Zombie«
and sparked an all-consuming Death Metal fire with blasting black metal
influences. This masterpiece, inspired by the Marquis de Sade, is one of the
most demanding works the genre has offered to this day. BELPHEGOR showed
themselves equally brutal and baleful on the successors »WALPURGIS RITES -
HEXENWAHN« [2009] and »BLOOD MAGICK NECROMANCE« [2011]. The band
received a lot of great feedback for their intense live performances as well,
and reached out to a big and loyal fan base. Their obscure rituals full of
diabolical magick have haunted the world several times – next to extensive tours
through Asia and Europe, BELPHEGOR have also completed ten tours through
North America. No matter where BELPHEGOR march forth on this planet, be
it on your stereo or live on stage, one thing is for sure: after the crest of
their devilish death ceremony, there will only be a heap of ruins remaining!
