The Swedish melodic folk/black metal-band WORMWOOD who have relesed this year the new album "The Star" via Black Lodge Records have announced their new drummer Simon Samuelsson.

The band comments:
"For most of the past year, we've had the pleasure of having Simon Samuelsson behind the drums. He joined us on short notice and has consistently demonstrated remarkable technical skill and a keen musical ear.
With that, we are thrilled to officially welcome him to Wormwood!"

Comment from Simon: "I'm incredibly grateful for the trust. It's been an absolute blast so far, and I'm excited for the journey ahead with the band!"

In addition, the band has already begun sneaking in some writing sessions for new material before they shift their focus back to live performances next year.

"Stay tuned for what's to come - Rock will be rocked!" the band adds!

The majority of the songs were composed toward the end of 2022, recorded during the second half of 2023, and have since been meticulously refined and allowed to mature until now. We deeply appreciate all the support we have received from you thus far and hope that this album will also meet your expectations.
As a band, we are now embarking on a new era.

"As we´re getting through the first month of the new year we would like to share some minor news with you.

-We are currently working on what´s gonna be our fourth full-length album.
At this point it's impossible to know when it's gonna be released but the plans are of course grand, and we´re always striving to put out better and better music. We will keep you updated throughout the process.

- Just like all the bands and all the fans we hope to be able to gig again after the latest restriction anti-climax. We´re sure we will be able to announce more gigs as soon everything goes back to normal world wide.

The band comments on the bonus tracks:
"The reason why we picked Shipwrecked and Northbound was because most of our listeners haven't heard our first EP 'The Void: Stories From the Whispering Well'. It was a time of experimentation and getting to know each other's style.
We picked this song specifically because it had fragments of that sound that we wanted to pursue. That sound led to the creation of Ghostlands.
Now - years later we decided to re-make it with the knowledge, possibilities and skills we lacked back then. It's a homage to the old and new.

The two covers on this deluxe edition were picked because they meant something deeply for some members in the band.
Most people know Nick Cave and his mastery of words and music, but fewer know about the enchanting Loreena McKennitt.
With our style and vision we created these two covers in respect to their virtuosity but with our own twist!"

The Swedish melodic folk/black metal-band WORMWOOD release today their new album "Arkivet" via Black Lodge Records!

The band comments: "The day has finally come for us to release ARKIVET. It's been a long and rocky journey.
When we wrote the songs and lyrics for ARKIVET we couldn't have known that the world would be brought to its knees so soon. But it did, and here we are.
Seven songs describing the end of what we've created, Individual demise, nature's force and man's stupidity."

WORMWOOD are one of the leading bands on the Swedish metal scene right now! The band follows up on the highly acclaimed "Nattarvet" which had the band soaring to the national charts and nominated for several awards. Their third offering "Arkivet" follows on the heels of this success and is a conceptually themed album about humanity's destructive force, the inability to adapt to our nature and our inevitable and well-deserved death.

Arkivet (The Archive) is a document you write for those who want to make it easier for their close ones after their passing where you can tell how you want to have your funeral arranged, where important documents are located, last wishes, etc..
WORMWOOD uses this as a metaphor for the whole world. The last words to an already dead planet.

The last story written by the few who survived the apocalypse and what man didn't do to preserve what we had.

-Overgrowth
When nature topples our skyscrapers and when the warning signs from Earth were not heard.

The last message sent out to the endless black cosmos before our protagonist dies.

An hymn to our ancestors and our previous unsullied land.

The sentimental and romantic view from a Nordic perspective as our lands fall into ruin.
