DEMONICAL - Part ways with singer Sverker Widgren!

DEMONICAL AND SINGER SVERKER WIDGREN PART WAYS!
[2017.04.03]

Swedish death metal masters DEMONICAL have parted ways with their singer and well known extreme metal guru Sverker Widgren (DIABOLICAL, Wing Studios).

Sverker who has been the band singer since 2008 has comented on this:

"In an attempt to avoid speculation, I'd like to inform anyone interested that the concert we did with Demonical last month was my last appearance with the band. I spent 9 years singing in this band and we did three albums, some EP's s and a few hundered shows during this period and I learned to know many great persons.

Some will wonder why I won't take part anymore, so out of respect to the people that follow the band I'll (try to) give a short explanation.

When I joined the band in 2008 after the debut album, I was running my studio together with another person, meaning that I basically worked 20 days, had 20 days off, worked 20 days etc. This obviously meant that I had plenty of time to spend outside the studio.

Some years ago I got myself a bigger facility, Wing Studios, and started to operate it myself, meaning that I personally handle basically all recording, mixing, mastering etc that is done here. This obviously meant spending more time in the studio since it is usually fully booked. In addition to this, my original band DIABOLICAL also started to get more recognition, more shows etc which also gradually started to consume more time.

Everybody who knows me or have ever worked with me knows that the work I do with the productions at Wing Studios is my top priority overall, and in combination with the increasing activities with Diabolical, I simply havent been able to put enough effort into Demonical during the last two or three years.

When we now look at 2017 and I go through my recording schedule in the studio and realize that the recording and touring plans that we have with Diabolical for 2017 and 2018 are the most extended plans that we have ever had since the band was formed 21 years ago, it would simply not do anyone any favours if I would take part in the process of making another album with Demonical now. This is something that was clear to both me and the guys in the band after some conversations we had a couple of months back.

I didn't "jump the ship" though! I actually planned to do the concerts in Finland this month and I was originally expecting the gigs in July to be my last trip with the boys, but since they already have a guy to replace me and he will be ready for those shows, it was decided that we should make this change already now. Since we also had offers to tour both Japan and Eastern Europe in July with Diabolical, I think we all feel that the time to make this change is now rather than later.

I probably shouldn't announce his name, but the new vocalist is also a good friend of mine and is in my opinion an awesome person with a great voice, so no worries there. Demonical have had 15 different permanent or session members over the last years but the sound has stayed pretty much the same and I know that it will remain the same in the future too.

I would have loved to list all the people I learned to know during our chaotic trips but I promised to keep this message short which has already failed badly. And besides, my journey around the globe obviously continues, just not with Demonical. But in short: thanks to all the above mentioned past and present guys in the band for all the great memories, and thanks to everyone who supported Demonical through these years and will continue to support the band in the future. I look forward to see you people around again soon!

No compromise!

Sverker

PS. ...and after nearly a decade, we can FINALLY put an end to the Diabolical/Demonical band name confusion, ok? It wasn't my fault in the first place, ha! DS. "

ATHERA LEAVES SUSPERIA!
[2015.05.30]

Norwegian Heavy / Thrash Metallers Susperia have just announced the departure of their singer Athera, the band commented as it follows:

"As you all know, Athera has left the band. We are still brothers and very good friends.
We wish him all the best in the future.

The new Susperia album is almost done and we have to say that we are very exiting about the new album. It gives us goose bumps when listening through all the songs. It's going to be raw as fuck!
This album will be a mix between Predominance and Unlimited, and for the first time in many years we feel that the music is back to where it should be.

New vocalist will be official after trying out a few hand picked singers." Susperia

The departing singer Athera has commented the day before:

"Ladies and gentlemen. I bid you farewell. At least for a good while. Considering my health situation and lack of progress contributing anything to my beloved band the last few years I have decided to pull myself out of the mix and let the guys continue on without me. We remain the best of friends and this is not a breakup due to any bad circumstances. It's simply me realizing I cannot deliver what you as fans and the band expects of me anymore. And I do not want to hold this brilliant band back anymore. They deserve better and you guys deserve to hear more new music. It is with regret and sadness I now do this, but trust me, it is the best for all parties involved. I am left with a strange feeling. Susperia has been with me for almost half my life and it is my family. So this hurts. But for me staying in the band any further would hurt you guys and the band even more. I don't know what will happen in the future, if they will get a new inspired vocalist or if Memnock will do the vocals (I vote YEAH!!) But something good will come of this in the form of a new album, or maybe even two! Maybe I'll pull the Bruce Dickinson/Rob Halford and make a return one day to the band. But for now I am out guys. I thank you so much for all the support through the years. From the bottom of my broken heart. Sorry we've been away for so long. Susperia will be back. One way or another. All my love and gratefulness." - Athera

BAND PRESENTS NEW SINGER FREDRIK MOUM!
[2014.05.21]

Last month (April), Witchhammer decided to part ways with Sam Natanael, who joined the band last September (2013). Sam is the voice behind Witchhammer's latest single/video "Save me".

We would like to wish Sam and his family all the best wishes in the future!

This will not affect any of Witchhammer's futural plans, and we're looking forward to blow out the best of Witchhammer on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june.

Our new frontman/lead vocal is Fredrik Moum (ex-Soulstone). Fredrik took the challenge and amazed us by learning a full setlist of songs within a week, and has already convinced us with his creativity and writing ability beside nailing all the high pitches and other tricky old stuff. One of his biggest musical influences is Candlemass.

We hope that all of you welcome Fredrik into our WH family, and we'll now speed up to finish the new album, as well as giving you all a blast on our forthcoming shows - Hope to see ya all on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june!

Meanwhile waiting for the fest check out the bands latest clip below!!! :: SAVE ME VIDEOCLIP ::

WITCHHAMMER NEWS FOR THE FUTURE TIMES!
[2013.10.22]

When the autumn darkness falls over the land and the cold winter is slowly sneaking in on us, Chapter 4 in the Witchhammer history is about to be written. A new chapter that is darker, harder and more evocative than ever. In anticipation of the new album by the band, (Wich will be launched late winter 2014) Witchhammer is proud to introduce old and new fans to a trilogy of new material based on stories from the MMO 'The Secret World'. "The Secret World" is developed by Funcom, and Witchhammer is one of several known metal bands providing music for the game that was released in 2012. Cooperation with Funcom continues, and together with Adapter studios (video) and Lydmuren A/S (sound) the single and video "Save Me" will be launched in late November 2013.

"Save me" will be followed by "Rising" and "From Hell" in January 2014. The dark and atmospheric trilogy paints a picture of what awaits impatient fans, when Chapter 4 in the Witchhammer story completes during the winter of 2014. Dark, gloomy, hard and brutal are some key words!

Witchhammer has recently been working intensively to obtain a replacement for former vocalist Thomas Arntzen Dahl, who left the band in the beginning of 2013. After months of writing new material and testing of different singers, the band finally found a new frontman and promoter. Sam Natanael is the man who lifts Witchhammer into a new direction, and towards a new era in Norwegian metal history. With a tougher and more brutal voice, old and new stories is presented in line with Witchhammer's basic spirit and intent.

The year 2014 looks to be an exciting year in the Witchhammer story.
While the new album is released, the band focuses on a lot of gigs both in and outside Norway. The story continues ........

27/11/13 - Witchhammer release the video "Save Me"
30/11/13 - Witchhammer release the single "Save Me"
14/12/13 - Witchhammer live - Melkefabrikken, Sarpsborg
January 2014 – releases of "Rising" and "From Hell"
