NIRNAETH BIOGRAPHY

2001 : I Am Nothing But A Cry In A Chaotic Torment
Mutill (guitars) and Malaria (bass) decided to create a Metal band with their most extreme influences : Morbid Angel, Immortal, Lord Belial, Dissection, etc.

2002 : I Become Flesh
Yamaël (drums) joined the band, followed by Zig (screams) a few time later. The band choose the name ‘Nirnaeth’ for its epic and poetic dimensions : ‘Nirnaeth Arnoediad’ is the name of a battle in Tolkien’s universe and means ‘eternal tears’.

2004 : Nothing But Ashes
After some first gigs 'Nothing But Ashes' emerged. This self produced demo contains 4 titles which already carry with them what characterizes the music of Nirnaeth : an organic structure articulated around devastating riffs with dark melodies and themes dealing with pain and madness.

2006 : May Their Martyrs Suffer Once And For All
‘Thrown Athwart The Darkness’ has been released on label Great Dane Records. Recorded at Midnight Studio, this first album exposed the horde to the extreme metal scene. The album title was taken from a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

2008 : The Horns Resound
Laboga Amps endorsed Mutill, alongside musicians from bands like Motorhead, Behemoth, Annihilator, Hate Eternal, etc.

2009 : It Lieth, Gazing On Midnight’s Sky
‘Splendour Of The Abyss’ was released on label Great Dane Records. Recorded once more at Midnight Studio, this album met very good reviews and allowed the band to multiply gigs.

2015 : Fire Gave Me A New Face
Vagorn replaced Yamaël on drums. The year ended with a participation at the second edition of the Gohelle Fest (Obituary, Rotting Christ, ...).

2016 : None Can Control It
The label Kaotoxin released 'Dramatis Personae', a split 7"EP with bands Azziard and Nirnaeth. A video clip produced by BullDogProd has been made for 'Nihil In Me'.

2017 : None Can Possess It
Marbas joined the band as second guitar player, allowing the band to explore new ways of creation. The third album, entitled 'From Shadow To Flesh', was produced in 3 studios : drums were recorded at Psykron studio by Phil Reinhalter, guitars and screams at Aeternal Studio by Mutill and finally mixing and mastering were done by Deha at Forbidden Frequencies Studio.

2018 : From Shadow To Flesh
A deal is signed with Malpermesita Records. 'From Shadow To Flesh' will be released in september 7th 2018. It's a concept album dealing with possession, from 2 perspectives. Cover was made by Above Chaos. First 500 copies are limited hand numbered digipack.

HATE BIOGRAPHY

With a dozen ferocious and lauded albums since 1996's Daemon Qui Fecit Terram, Hate's lucky thirteenth album, Bellum Regiis, sees the unrelenting Polish quartet forging a bolder and more aggressive style than ever. Bellum Regiis' nine songs see vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, guitarist Domin, drummer Nar-Sil, and bassist Tiermes honing a modern sound rife with eerie atmosphere and depth. Produced by David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Dark Tranquility, Katatonia) at Stockholm's Grondahl Studio, Bellum Regiis is lyrically a more "humanity focused and personal" album than Rugia. Bellum Regiis' songs, explains founder Sinner, are a timely aural and visual exploration of "a struggle for power and everything that comes with it."

Hate, who formed in Warsaw in 1990, have been hailed as a "hallmark of consistency," and praised as a "sleek and tight death metal monster." Since 2017's Tremendum, Hate has focused on nature and its mysteries as a main source of inspiration. As Sinner explains, "Whether that's the nature within us, around us or that we see from afar, the perspectives gained and how they relate to different overarching themes have driven each album." For instance, 2019's Auric Gates of Veles focused on death, the Slavic perception of death in particular. Six years later, Bellum Regiis finds Hate delving into "humanity and why are we, as creatures, so deeply motivated by concepts like power, wealth, glory and faith. The main theme is a struggle for power and everything that comes with it."

Hence the album title Bellum Regiis, which translates to "A War of Royalty" or "A War of Kings." Sinner looks at the hard questions surrounding power-does its attainment make us aberrant or are we aberrant to begin with? The title track encompasses the LP's leitmotif. "As a song, 'Bellum Regiis' has both a deep melancholy and a sense of grandeur," says Sinner. "The vocals laid down by Eliza Sacharczuk (a renowned singer and voice teacher who runs a holistic arts center in Bialystok) give the song a strong sense of time. Whether that's nostalgia, reminiscence, regret, or preparation for the future is in the eye of the beholder. These wars, these struggles, have been ongoing since the dawn of our existence," the frontman notes. "Whether they are futile or not, they are scars on our very nature."

While Hate used "Bellum Regiis" as a guiding phrase since an early point in the songwriting, the first song worked up was "Alfa Inferi Goddess of War." The last written was "Ageless Harp of Devilry," which both sums up what the album is about but also sheds new light on some of the record's strongest themes. "It's the track that most reminds me of our 2010 record Erebos. It's like a perfect combination of 'mechanical' riffs and atmospheric black metal tunes." In the compositions, Hate also drew inspiration from Ancient Greek literature in general, and the Iliad in particular.

Sinner's philosophical side prospered during long conversations and musings in walks around Warsaw with his friend Benek Babalon, who drew the frontman's attention to the tale of Iphigenia. In fact, Bellum Regiis' first single is "Iphigenia" who, in Greek mythology, was a daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra. Music was written first, and Sinner found her story connected beautifully with it. "It's about sacrificing your life for a greater cause. The example of Iphigenia is striking because she is given a choice to save her own life, yet she decides to be put to death, and in this way help support the Greek side in the Trojan War."

Sinner's initial concept for the cover art was fantastically executed by Daniel Rusiłowicz. The strong and profound visual piece of art portrays a king who has clearly endured hardship and struggles. "He's like someone standing in front of a precipice, on the brink of collapse," Sinner says. "He's lost everything except the crown - the only visible mark of his former greatness. Yet, he still holds some dignity, some spark of that 'Stirps Regia' - the law that comes from his ancestry. He holds onto it against all odds."

Fans may notice some commonality between Erebos and Bellum Regiis in the character of the compositions and overall sound, with Bellum Regiis being richer in style and with more black-metal elements to it. "Between female vocals, orchestration, samples, acoustic guitars, there are a lot of moving pieces that help set this album apart," says Sinner about Hate's latest. "My vocals have also changed quite a bit over the years. They're more nuanced and wider-ranging, able to portray emotions and meanings in a more powerful way."

"The Vanguard" is one of the most epic tracks on the album and also the fastest. "It was quite a challenge to record the drums, but Nar-Sil did a great job. The song has a bellicose character and follows the literal definition of 'vanguard,' meaning a frontmost part of an advancing army," Sinner explains, "mercilessly destroying the land of an enemy. Lyrically, I use the Scythian conquests as an example of a brutal, ferocious invasion force, but it's a ritual of pretty much every war we observe today as well."

Helping Hate to achieve their aggressive but humananistic sonic goals were, in addition to Sacharczuk ("the album could not have sounded the same without her"), composer Michał Staczkun. The longtime collaborator, who has worked with the band on every Hate album since Erebos, contributes sound design across various tracks. Producer David Castillo harnesses Hate's pure metal power on Bellum Regiis, hitting hard without sacrificing equally powerful traces of the song's humanity. "It's not an easy tightrope to walk," notes Sinner, "but David achieved it beautifully. It was a real pleasure working with him on this record."

More than three decades into a stellar career, Bellum Regiis finds Sinner as profound and poetic than ever, if not more so. To wit, "A Ghost of Lost Delight," a song possessed of a strange melancholy and meditation. Delving into the cycles of life and death, Hate ultimatley offer a powerful and positive entreaty for hope in dark times, as pertinent in 2025 as in eons past. As Sinner sings: "In darkness we crawl toward the starlight / In a race against the flow / We saved our world from oblivion / Ghosts of lost delight… now live!"

"THE DEVILS" DETAILS!

Diabolical death metal squadron BELPHEGOR have released their new album "The Devils" out via Nuclear Blast Records.
Once again their trademark sounding "Diabolical Death Metal" will be brought to the world. The outstanding artwork was created by Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, with exalted design elements influenced by renaissance and middle age paintings.

With "The Devils", long-running diabolical black death metal titans BELPHEGOR unleash their twelfth studio album upon the masses, which proves to be one of the strongest and most elaborate records in the groups career. Mixed & mastered at renowned Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, At The Gates), "The Devils" sounds absolutely crushing and dynamic, sonically pushing the immense variety of the eight tracks to new heights.

The band comments: "Hail! Today we are finally unleashing our new album "THE DEVILS" in its entirety!
I think the greatest strength of this twelfth BELPHEGOR album are the many new elements incorporated into our unrelenting soundwall, which illuminates the offering shine with an evil ritualistic light. We tried to push the boundaries as musicians and as a band to bring the eight soundcollages to a new level of “Diabolical Black Death Metal” extremity. An intense atmosphere was our goal.
"THE DEVILS" is the perfect demonstration of how we wanted to sound in the year 2022, every aspect expressing what we seek within BELPHEGOR!"
In Musick, Helmuth

BELPHEGOR BIOGRAPHY

DIABOLICAL DEATH/ BLACK METAL ART SINCE 1993

The dark days of autumn and winter are approaching as European troop BELPHEGOR plant another signpost to Hell upon the Earth's surface. One of the most consistently extreme bands on the Death/Black scene crest their throne built of bones once again to uncompromisingly attack humanity, three years after their 2014 demonstration of brutality, »CONJURING THE DEAD«. »TOTENRITUAL« consists of nine compositions which, blow-by-blow, silence any doubts about the supremacy of these icons of the European scene. Merciless riff force, crunchy blasts in a dark setting – 24 years after their foundation, BELPHEGOR’s inventive creativity places them head and shoulders above the rest. Anyone looking for silence, beautiful melodies and a life-affirming aura will suffocate under the power of »TOTENRITUAL.«

Even small interludes takes the listener to a safe place only for a short period, before the next brutal attack follows. The eleventh studio album of the undisputed Death/Black Metal scene conductors follows the sophisticated path of its precursors and will have their followers kneeling down in humility. The commander of death-sounds does not use a blunt corset of henchmen for his attacks on society's conventions, but demonstrates his skills as a high-class songwriter. From determined songs, embossed by an obsessed directness, to majestic ritualistic hymns - followers of darkest sermons will be led directly into the abyss. »TOTENRITUAL« enters mercilessly into the procession of BELPHEGOR's works of art: another thorn in the eye of every upholder of moral standards – the end is heralded.

For the recordings of »TOTENRITUAL«, the squad retired to Stage One Studios in Germany and Studio Mischmaschine in Austria.

For the diabolic wall of sound, the explosive material was sent across the pond and was refined in the Audiohammer Studios in Florida by Jason Suecof [Mix] and Mark Lewis [Mastering]. The impressive cover artwork was again created by the Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, who has also created the striking visual countenance for »PESTAPOCALYPSE VI« [2006] and »CONJURING THE DEAD« [2014].

BELPHEGOR was founded in 1993 and spread like a virus within the underground. Meanwhile, their »BLOODBATH IN PARADISE« demo has become legendary and paved the baleful path into the souls of thousands of listeners. Anti-religious with nihilistic tendencies as well as provocative topics, BELPHEGOR moved on. The debut album »The Last Supper« [1995] let the community of followers and opponents grow. Inexorably, the band pushes their destructive ways forward in the following years. BELPHEGOR become louder, more obsessed and more dynamic, and their albums now have cult status. To think about the scene doesn't work without thinking of BELPHEGOR. In 2008, the band sent their followers to the edge of hell with »Bondage Goat Zombie« and sparked an all-consuming Death Metal fire with blasting black metal influences. This masterpiece, inspired by the Marquis de Sade, is one of the most demanding works the genre has offered to this day. BELPHEGOR showed themselves equally brutal and baleful on the successors »WALPURGIS RITES - HEXENWAHN« [2009] and »BLOOD MAGICK NECROMANCE« [2011]. The band received a lot of great feedback for their intense live performances as well, and reached out to a big and loyal fan base. Their obscure rituals full of diabolical magick have haunted the world several times – next to extensive tours through Asia and Europe, BELPHEGOR have also completed ten tours through North America. No matter where BELPHEGOR march forth on this planet, be it on your stereo or live on stage, one thing is for sure: after the crest of their devilish death ceremony, there will only be a heap of ruins remaining!

BLACK ALTAR BIOGRAPHY

Anno Bastardi 1996
?
In the darkest abyss of chaos where time and space are impenetrable, Black Altar came into existence. It took its earthly shape during blasphemous Sabbath in the Night of Walpurgia Anno Bastardi 1996, when it was summoned by the voice of Shadow. He, as the first guardian of Black Altar, have started an unholy crusade, thus awaking fear and pain among the hypocritical and hideous christian lambs.
