LATIN AMERICA SUCCESSFULLY CONQUERED AGAIN!!

European death/ black machine BELPHEGOR have finished today in Bogota (Colombia) their Latin America Tour presenting tracks from their latest studio offering, and most successful album to date, titled »TOTENRITUAL«. This also marked the band’s first venture to Latin America since the release of the longplayer.

Helmuth comments: "A big hail to all the people that attended the nine Rituals. The intensity, passion, and magick between band and crowd was just insane. Thank you for your tremendous support since 2006, when we started touring this continent. Also, greetings to NARGAROTH! Both bands have been doing their own thing in their own world against the mainstream for over two decades. It was a pleasure to finally meet and tour together!"

Serpenth adds: "Additional thanks to Victor Fabio [our TM/ FOH over there for a very long time], Noel Sadji [technician], and our live session musicians, Molokh and Ravager."

BELPHEGOR announces a Mexican tour on the map for September, and will also march into territories where we have never been before. In October/ November, the band will return to North America. A lot more activities will be revealed soon. Watch out for tour dates and more.

Swedish brutal, melodic, old-school death metal tyrants DEMONICAL, have released today in Europe a brand new, fifth studio album titled "Chaos Manifesto",  in the 27th it shall be released in North America also via Agonia Records.

DEMONICAL arose from the ashes of formerly disbanded Centinex in 2006, and in comparison to its older sibling, executes death metal in a far more impetuous and melodic manner. "Chaos Manifesto" is a testament to that statement. After nearly five years since the release of the last full-length album "Darkness Unbound" (2013), the Swede's - now led by a new prominent death growler Alexander Högbom (October Tide, Centinex) - continue the traditional DEMONICAL path with fierce HM-2 driven death metal of utter brutality, yet return in a partially new, yet fully fit five-piece line-up.

From the violent album opener "A Void Most Obscure", via melodic mid-tempo anthems "Towards Greater Gods" and "Välkommen Undergång" (the band's first ever track is Swedish), all the way to the final song "Nightbringer", DEMONICAL once again prove that they're a force to be reckoned with in the extreme metal scene. The five-year gap between albums has not made the band become stale in ideas, either:

"Chaos Manifesto features some new elements and streaks the band hasn’t explored before" - comments bassist, Martin Schulman. "We have tapped an award-winning Swedish producer and we are confident that the album - which summons bits and pieces from all our previous releases - will become an improved quality-related chapter for Demonical, and push our Swedish Death Metal Darkness to a new level".

"Chaos Manifesto" was recorded in 2017 and both mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (Terra Tenebrosa, Cult of Luna, Katatonia). The album artwork was designed by Karmazid (Urfaust, Wolfbrigade, Blaze of Perdition). Pehr Skjoldhammer of Alfahanne guest appears on vocals.

The origins of SUSPERIA can be traced back to 1998 when Tjodalv, then occupying the drum seat with Dimmu Borgir, and long-time friend Cyrus (ex-Satyricon, Old Man's Child) got together to share ideas and write songs. Clearly rooted and seasoned in the Norwegian black metal scene, SUSPERIA elevated its sound into more melodic areas of extreme metal, embracing and exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease.

On "The Lyricist", SUSPERIA has gone back to its black origin in many ways, one of which is a more grimmer expression. The characteristic melodic twist the band is known for is still present, and an additional layer of variety has been added thanks to new vocalist, Bernt 'Dagon' Fjellestad (whose stage debut with the band was made at last year's 70000 Tons Of Metal Festival). From SUSPERIA's pragmatic point of view, the new album is a "good old-fashioned kick in the head, both old and new fans should find enjoyable".

"The Lyricist" was recorded at three different studios in Norway between February 2015 and May 2016. The album was later mixed and mastered at Strand Studio (Chrome Division, The Wretched End, In Vain) by Marius Strand. Cover design and artwork was prepared by Vincent Fouquet. New band photos were shot by Espen Bakken.

REVEAL STUDIO LIVE VIDEO RECORDING FOR "SCULPTURES"!

Portuguese Funeral Doom/Death Metal duo by the name of OAK entered Stone Sound Studio in Portugal and made a live recording of a composition called “Sculptures“.

"Sculptures" is the ground shaped by the walk of whom carries the heaviest of burdens. With each step, the feet are buried deeper, being swallowed by the soil. A path that is formed by the passage of a body hollowed out of it's soul, that keeps going through unimaginable pain, never looking back and suffering alone.

OAK are a project of two members from the sensation Portuguese black metal band GAEREA!

“Sculptures” is a musical spellcaster of a high order, one that rises slowly like a haunting mist across a barren plain and then steadily grows in emotional power and intensity. The deep thump and boom of the drums beat like a dying leviathan heart, but the pulse quickens, just as the song’s heart-aching melody becomes more despairing and the vocalist’s grim, cavernous growls become howls of pain.

As the pace subsides again, the mesmerizing guitar reverberations signal the return of a soulful, spectral visitation, eventually joined by a tumbling, rhythmically compulsive drum progression. And then the weight of crushing grief descends like a collapsing mountain — the music becomes staggeringly heavy, and then mounts toward a crescendo of blasting, thundering drums, scything riffs, and ravaging roars.

The intensity crests, and what’s left in its wake are final heartbeats and ghost-lights, echoing and shimmering across that barren plain in the mind’s eye.

Yes indeed, it’s a spellbinding song, but it is still a work in progress. The final version of the song will be included on OAK’s debut album, which is now being recorded in the same Stone Sound Studio in Portugal with sound engineer and producer Ricardo Oliveira (who has worked with Colosso and The Ominous Circle, among others). We’ll be anxiously awaiting its completion.

We’re also happy to report that OAK will be making their first live appearance on March 24th in an ancient chapel in the north of Portugal, with our friends in Bell Witch. Tickets are available HERE.
