WITCHHAMMER, started up in 1986 - Tor Erik, Jan Erik and Per Ståle
formed Treatless! After some local gigs with another local act Loader
- the 3 piece needed a bass player and a second guitar player, so they "borrowed"
Finn and Peder from their befriended band.
WITCHHAMMER was now starting to burn the flame.. The album 1487
was recorded, and Peder wanted to focus on his studies - and Frank
was hired for a few months, until Morten and Frank switched bands.

1487 was released in 1034 copies (only vinyl) 4th of march 1990. All sold
out throughout europe, and the guys played all over with Artch and
Equinox also starting to finalize the writing for The Lost Tapes.
Bootleg (a stage in Oslo who were filming all gigs, and aired all gigs on friday/saturday)
was visited several times during 1990/1991.
After Morten left in the beginning of 92 - the band continued as a 4
piece, with Finn switching to guitar and Per Ståle both handling
vocals and bass. Renato came in shortly after, so Per could
concentrate on vocals, and the bass was back in the hands of a bass player :)
This line up recorded a demo, and was also on a local compilation with the song
Cold Turkey. in 1995 they attended Whalestock festival, which
became the end for the time, and a hiatus was agreed.
In late 2000 the band was now back in line up with Tor Erik, Jan Erik, Finn,
Per Ståle and Morten - and released The Lost Tapes, 10 years after it
was recorded. The tapes WAS lost as Studio2 were shut down, and all 2"
tapes were gone.. A fully packed reunion and release gig was held (january 2001)
in Sarpsborg - but the band was not ready to continue - until -. Cafe Oscar, 2nd
april 2005 - as support for their friends in Loader, Morten also helping
out as guitar player in Loader for this gig.

Now the flame was burning again! The band played all over, also headlining
Swordbrothers Festival in Germany, Karmøygeddon in Haugesund (WITCHHAMMER's
second hometown!) and many more. 1487 was also released as a 15th
annivercary on CD - the band was working with new songs again. Per Ståle
left the band, and Thomas was recruited,- Chapter 3: In Serenity And
Awe was finally finished and released.

The sound had already started to change - and Marlyn (keys/vocals) was
hired in the band after working with the guys in studio with the Chapter3.
In 2012 - Thomas left - Sam came in for a short period to
handle the vocals.
In 2014, Fredrik was recruited and
WITCHHAMMERreleased the
single From Hell, the same day as they played at the Tons of Rock
festival along with Volbeat, Anhtrax, Slayer, Ghost and many more.... The
story continues - and you will soon be hearing Stormborn, Purgatory Rising
among other new songs released from the band!

and Alone Records will focus on keeping the flame alive for the band with

Last month (April),
Witchhammer
decided to part ways with Sam Natanael, who joined the band last
September (2013). Sam is the voice behind
Witchhammer's
latest single/video "Save me".
We would like to wish Sam and his family all the best wishes in the
future!
This will not affect any of
Witchhammer's
futural plans, and we're looking forward to blow out the best of
Witchhammer
on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june.
Our new frontman/lead vocal is Fredrik Moum (ex-Soulstone). Fredrik took
the challenge and amazed us by learning a full setlist of songs within a week,
and has already convinced us with his creativity and writing ability beside
nailing all the high pitches and other tricky old stuff. One of his biggest
musical influences is Candlemass.
We hope that all of you welcome Fredrik into our WH family, and
we'll now speed up to finish the new album, as well as giving you all a blast on
our forthcoming shows - Hope to see ya all on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june!

Witchhammer
history is about to be written. A new chapter that is darker, harder and more
evocative than ever. In anticipation of the new album by the band, (Wich will be
launched late winter 2014)
Witchhammer is
proud to introduce old and new fans to a trilogy of new material based on
stories from the MMO 'The Secret World'. "The Secret World" is developed
by Funcom, and
Witchhammer is
one of several known metal bands providing music for the game that was released
in 2012. Cooperation with Funcom continues, and together with Adapter
studios (video) and Lydmuren A/S (sound).
"Save me" will be followed by "Rising" and "From Hell" in
2014. The dark and atmospheric trilogy paints a picture of what awaits impatient
fans, when Chapter 4 in the
Witchhammer
story completes during the winter of 2014. Dark, gloomy, hard and brutal are
some key words!
After months of writing new material and testing of different singers, the band
