Diabolical Death/Black Metal commando BELPHEGOR have just posted footage of the last rehearsals end of May 2012. A few days before Serpenth and Marthyn flew to Mana Studios, St. Petersburg, Florida to track the devastating bass guitars and blazing machine gun drums with producer Erik Rutan. This rehearsal footage offers a first impression of the brutality yet to be unleashed.

Founder, frontman and guitarist Helmuth states: "Here are a few samples of the new soundcollages. We replaced the working titles, added the final ones on this re-worked trailer, which also shows a new track. Hell awaits!!"

"CONJURING THE DEAD" was recorded at Mana Studios in Florida under the direction of Eric Rutan. Three and a half years have past since the highly praised album 'Blood Magick Necromance' was released. BELPHEGOR are back to conquer - possessed, on fire and stronger than ever!
The artwork was created by Greek artist, Seth Siro Anton who also painted the cover of ‘Pestapokalypse IV’ in 2006.

Diabolical Death/ Black Metal giants BELPHEGOR have just revealed the cover design of their forthcoming album "CONJURING THE DEAD".
The artwork was created by Greek artist, Seth Siro Anton who also painted the cover of ‘Pestapokalypse IV’ in 2006.

Helmuth comments: "Magick!! The spectacular cover, the offensive lyrical content, the Death Musick. BELPHEGOR´s nine new sound collages are a new dimension of intensity and dynamics."

Seth adds: "Once you can customize the basic principles of Renaissance painting and deriving energy/ data from chaotic reservoir of unconscious,...you get BELPHEGOR´s "CONJURING THE DEAD" cover art."

Comments the band’s mastermind, Quazarre: “You’ll definitely see a huge distance between the opening tracks of ‘Adventvs’ and those from the ‘Eritis sicvt Devs’ era, especially on a technical level. But hey, that’s the whole point as we’d like to leave you with a glimpse into what Devilish Impressions was doing in the years it was created and compare it to what we do presently. And although ‘Eritis …’ was in a way created to pay homage to all those acts that so strongly influenced our creation, it was also a brave reach out and search for ways to the band’s very individual expression. As for the new songs, not only we have redefined the ideas behind our sonic path but have also come up with a different approach toward the sound and production. We’ve introduced 7-strings guitars and reduced synthesizers to the absolute minimum. Moreover, in order not to spoil a natural groove of the drums, for the first time ever we've decided to use no triggers at all.”

The band has worked with different sound engineers and used several recording studios to produce the new songs, incl. the famous Hertz Studio (drums, Wieslawski Bros), Icaros Studio (guitars), Flumen Studio (additional synth / fx) and Sound Division Studio (vocals; guitars’ re-amping), where it was also mixed and mastered by Arkadiusz Malczewski (Behemoth, Decapitated, Hate etc.).

Also appearing on the record are Contemplatron – overtone chanting, dril bu (ritual Tibetan hand bell) and Chinese Chau gong as well as Wojciech ‘Flumen’ Kostrzewa (Asgaard) – additional synth / fx.

‘Eritis sicvt Devs’, originally recorded by Paweł Wolczyk at D.J. Wolkos 666 Studio, has been digitally re-mastered at the beginning of 2014.

Last month (April), Witchhammer decided to part ways with Sam Natanael, who joined the band last September (2013). Sam is the voice behind Witchhammer's latest single/video "Save me".

We would like to wish Sam and his family all the best wishes in the future!

This will not affect any of Witchhammer's futural plans, and we're looking forward to blow out the best of Witchhammer on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june.

Our new frontman/lead vocal is Fredrik Moum (ex-Soulstone). Fredrik took the challenge and amazed us by learning a full setlist of songs within a week, and has already convinced us with his creativity and writing ability beside nailing all the high pitches and other tricky old stuff. One of his biggest musical influences is Candlemass.

We hope that all of you welcome Fredrik into our WH family, and we'll now speed up to finish the new album, as well as giving you all a blast on our forthcoming shows - Hope to see ya all on Tons Of Rock the 19th of june!
