BLACK ALTAR BIOGRAPHY

In the darkest abyss of chaos where time and space are impenetrable, Black Altar came into existence. It took its earthly shape during blasphemous Sabbath in the Night of Walpurgia Anno Bastardi 1996, when it was summoned by the voice of Shadow. He, as the first guardian of Black Altar, have started an unholy crusade, thus awaking fear and pain among the hypocritical and hideous christian lambs.
The first stroke into their rotten system of values was a demo entitled "Na Uroczysku..." which gained a special recognition among several groups of listeners. It was recorded by Shadow in 1997 at Selani Studio with the help of Doc, Vader's drummer, in the role of a music engineer and drums programming. Released under Shadow's own label - Odium Rec., the first issue of 500 copies was sold out rapidly, making the name of Black Altar very popular in Poland and in other countries as well.
Where were many musicians involved, however none of them stayed long because they could not meet Shadow's high musical and ideological requirements. The turning-point came in the end of 1999 when two new musicians, who just like Shadow had shown boundless devotion to the Black Metal Art, joined the band.
In December 2000 a new, long-awaited EP entitled "Wrath ov the Gods" was recorded. Although all the compositions included were rather old, this record presented a new and more full-fledged face of the band. The EP was released in 2002, once again, by Odium Rec., this time as a limited to 666 copies hand-numbered with blood split CD with promising band Vesania. In 2003 Odium Rec. re-released "Wrath of the Gods" in the form of limited to 500 copies, hand-numbered with corpse blood, 7" EP.
In September 2003 at Selani Studio Black Altar recorded their debut album entitled "Black Altar". It was a great improvement in the development of the band. All the compositions show an enormous potential of Black Altar. The new hymns are still more extreme and more technical. They reveal the unknown regions of Black Metal - an Art destined for the privileged. "Black Altar" was mixed and mastered at Studio X. For the track "Fire ov Immortal Self" a professional video was recorded. In April 2004 the material is released in the form of CD and a gate-fold LP by the German Christhunt Productions. Odium Rec. releases a limited to 666 copies hand-numbered with corpse blood cassette version of "Black Altar".
After releasing the debut album Shadow parts with his musicians and as of that moment Black Altar became a one-man band.
In 2006 WarKult Prod from Peru released remastered version of Black Altar "Wrath ov the Gods" (with 4 bonus tracks) as split,slip case cd, with Nebular Mystic (Nor).

In October 2006 Black Altar finished, at very good Studio X, record session of their second album called "Death Fanaticism". It's a killer Black Metal Holocaust! This unholy Masterpiece ov Black Art was unleashed as cd in March 2008 under the wings of Odium Rex and as gatefold Lp version by Antichristian Front Rec from Spain.

In July 2010 Black Altar recorded tracks for mini album “Suicidal Salvation” and for split Black Altar/Varathron/Thornspawn.
In January 2013 Black Altar / Varathron / Thornspawn split was finally unleashed by Odium Records as jewel case cd version, as a deluxe gatefold vinyl limited to 350 copies on black and to 150 copies on clear vinyl by Floga Rec/Hellsfire Rec from Greece. Moreover digi book A5 version will be released about February via Black Saw Prod (Mex) and BlackDeath Coven (USA) and tape version, limited to 140 copies in cardboard box via RawBlackKult Prod from Bolivia! There are 3 new tracks of Black Altar +intro and outro.

In October mini album "Suicidal Salvation" was unleashed by German Darker than Black as a digi pack and Lp (in 2014). The album includes songs originally intended for the split with Shining

For the recordings of »TOTENRITUAL«, the squad retired to Stage One Studios in Germany and Studio Mischmaschine in Austria.

For the diabolic wall of sound, the explosive material was sent across the pond and was refined in the Audiohammer Studios in Florida by Jason Suecof [Mix] and Mark Lewis [Mastering]. The impressive cover artwork was again created by the Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, who has also created the striking visual countenance for »PESTAPOCALYPSE VI« [2006] and »CONJURING THE DEAD« [2014].

BELPHEGOR was founded in 1993 and spread like a virus within the underground. Meanwhile, their »BLOODBATH IN PARADISE« demo has become legendary and paved the baleful path into the souls of thousands of listeners. Anti-religious with nihilistic tendencies as well as provocative topics, BELPHEGOR moved on. The debut album »The Last Supper« [1995] let the community of followers and opponents grow. Inexorably, the band pushes their destructive ways forward in the following years. BELPHEGOR become louder, more obsessed and more dynamic, and their albums now have cult status. To think about the scene doesn't work without thinking of BELPHEGOR. In 2008, the band sent their followers to the edge of hell with »Bondage Goat Zombie« and sparked an all-consuming Death Metal fire with blasting black metal influences. This masterpiece, inspired by the Marquis de Sade, is one of the most demanding works the genre has offered to this day. BELPHEGOR showed themselves equally brutal and baleful on the successors »WALPURGIS RITES - HEXENWAHN« [2009] and »BLOOD MAGICK NECROMANCE« [2011]. The band received a lot of great feedback for their intense live performances as well, and reached out to a big and loyal fan base. Their obscure rituals full of diabolical magick have haunted the world several times – next to extensive tours through Asia and Europe, BELPHEGOR have also completed ten tours through North America. No matter where BELPHEGOR march forth on this planet, be it on your stereo or live on stage, one thing is for sure: after the crest of their devilish death ceremony, there will only be a heap of ruins remaining!

Polish Death Metal squadron HATE is preparing to head to the studio in December to record the follow-up to 2017’s “Tremendum.” The new opus, bearing the working title “Salve Ignis,” is tentatively slated for summer 2019 and will be the band’s debut collaboration with the legendary Metal Blade Records. Details are still surfacing, but the band has so far released two raw pre-production tracks: “Path to Arkhen” and “In The Shrine Of Veles”, and have confirmed that production on the finished record will be handled by the talented Wiesławski brothers at Hertz Studio, Poland (Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated, and others). HATE have been praised by press and fans alike for years for creating lacerating and dark music, proven best on their current album ‘Tremendum’ (2017). The album saw ATF Sinner (vocals, guitars) utilize the dark aspects of the mystic and arcane Slavonic folklore to explore themes both personal and impersonal. SERRABULHO have revealed the first single for the new album "Porntugal - Portuguese Vagitarian Gastronomy" that will be released on December, 15th by Rotten Roll Rex!
The first single chosen is "Dingleberry Ice Cream", a song with lyrcs in English and Mirandese - Portugal’s second official language, spoken mainly by elders in the bands local region, it that tells the story of a Family Frost ice cream salesman (hence the truck’s typical melody being played with a bagpipe) who worked in Miranda do Douro (known as part of Portugal’s "cold lands"), who became frustrated with his lack of success. One day he decides to “tweak“ the ice cream’s recipe, and suddenly his sales go off the charts!
Ricardo Santos [Velha Gaiteira, Gambuzinos, Trasga, Bizarma and Zaragaitas] plays the bagpipe on the song.

"Porntugal" features a wide variety of guest appearances. Besides the bagpipe, Ricardo Santos also plays rabel (similar to an archaic violin and descendend from the medieval rebec), tarota (a catalan wind instrument, that belongs to the Oboes family), adufe (a portuguese square drum), galician tambourine and vieiras (scallop shells). Manuel Meirinhos [Galandum Galundaina, Trasgo] contributes with additional vocals, sampling and bagpipe.
Freaky, the crazy chihuahua barks (a lot) on the song Os Tintins do Tintin. Also, additional vocals throughout the CD were provided by Susana Lima and Hugo Picamilho [PadariaGang].
Some field recordings captured in loco by ethnomusicologist Tiago Velhinha Pereira & A música portuguesa a gostar dela própria [http://amusicaportuguesaagostardelapropria.org/] were used on the disc.

SERRABULHO also wish to note that a part of the band's twisted aesthetic actually originates from the minds of two young ladies: Susana Catalão, our most beloved lyricist, has penned the vast majority of the songs’ lyrics, delivering some of funniest stories, written in an exquisite way that lets us delve ever-deeper in our craziness. Meanwhile, Marta Peneda’s cover art has been the band’s calling card. Every time we talk to either Susana and Marta about some ideas we had, they return to us with even more deranged concepts than the ones we initially brainstormed. Thank you, girls!

More than twenty years after their formation in northern Sweden, innovative blackened death metallers DIABOLICAL proves to be more vital than ever and puts forth “Eclipse”, a concept album reflecting on the dark side of humanity that forces the listener to explore his own diabolical side. The album is a tour de force with spitting musical and aesthetic complexity swirling around a dense soundscape of excellently distilled and refined ideas, altogether forming a rare display of musical craftsmanship equaled by very few contemporary metal bands.

DIABOLICAL was founded in Sundsvall, Sweden back in 1996, and has since released 5 full-length albums, in addition to two EP’s. Ever since then they have followed no one, and no one has followed them. Already with their early efforts “Deserts of Desolation” (mini album, 2000) and “Synergy” (2001), DIABOLICAL stood out as something different from the death metal bands coming up at the time, representing something unwilling to be categorized easily. Quickly following the release of their second full length, they toured throughout Europe several times during 2002-2003 presenting their repertoire.

Returning in 2008 with full force they delivered a milestone in their discography. Taking their innovative death metal a huge step further, they flung the listener into the darkest corners of the human mind, bringing to life restrained aggression and hunger for vengeance in “The Gallery of Bleeding Art”. The album received brilliant reviews and was followed by headline tours throughout Europe.

In January 2011 “Ars Vitae” was released, containing 17 tracks from different parts of the band’s career.

2013 saw the release of the band’s most ambitious album thus far. “Neogenesis” stood out as something truly unique. The album raised the bar for concept albums as it in addition to being a music album, it was also a novel. Binding every song with a chapter of the book, the music, lyrics, storytelling and philosophy of “Neogenesis” blends together to create a profound experience that left a deep impression on fans and press. Reviews were raving and the following European headline tours were hugely successful. The band appeared at many festivals, toured the UK and toured Europe again supporting Borknagar in 2016.

On their previous release, the “Umbra” EP (2016), DIABOLICAL continued to craft inventive music, moving seamlessly between crushingly heavy and dark to delicate and ethereal. But “Umbra” was a mere foreshadowing of what was to come. Produced again by vocalist/guitarist Sverker Widgren at Wing Studios in Stockholm, the new and 6th album “Eclipse” picks up where “Umbra” left off and once again DIABOLICAL manages to top their previous efforts.

With nine gracefully raging songs, “Eclipse” presents DIABOLICAL as a mature and sophisticated band ascending to new heights.
