»TOTENRITUAL« was recorded at Stage One Studios in Germany and Studio
Mischmaschine in Austria. Over three years have passed since the »CONJURING
THE DEAD« album was released. »TOTENRITUAL« is now in mixing process
by Jason Suecof and is being mastered by Mark Lewis in Florida at
Audio Hammer studios.
The artwork will be created once again by Greek artist, Seth Siro Anton
who also painted the cover of »PESTAPOKALYPSE VI« in 2006 and »CONJURING
THE DEAD« in 2014.

Realiza-se no próximo dia 4 de
Novembro, no Pavilhão Multiusos da Malveira (concelho de Mafra,
distrito de Lisboa), a segunda edição do festival de Metal e Hardcore Oeste
Underground Fest.
De cariz solidário, dado que visa auxiliar os bombeiros locais, o evento
será constituído por 14 bandas portuguesas e estrangeiras, praticantes da melhor
música pesada que atualmente se faz na Europa. Numa decisão arrojada, o festival
abre-se pela primeira vez à inclusão de grupos estrangeiros.
O alinhamento já se encontra fechado, tendo como cabeças-de-cartaz os alemães
Acranius. Antes, ainda, tocam os suíços Enzephalitis (cujo vocalista
é Ricardo Proença, ex-Analepsy), os espanhóis Heid, os
ucranianos sediados em Portugal Yar e os portugueses Raw Decimating
Brutality (RDB), Bleeding Display, Sacred Sin, Revolution Within, Dead Meat,
Konad, Humanart, F.P.M., Ravensire e Trepid Elucidation, num
pacote de luxo que, sem dúvida, irá satisfazer os fãs de Metal e Hardcore.
Na sequência do inegável êxito de que a edição inaugural (realizada a 5 de
novembro de 2016) se revestiu , com 259 pagantes, a organização pretende uma vez
mais realizar um evento de elevada qualidade, com forte impacto económico na
área geográfica em que se insere.
Em simultâneo, é objetivo da organização preservar e exponenciar o espaço que o
Oeste Underground Fest notoriamente já conquistou no mapa dos festivais
underground em Portugal. Aliás, a realização anual do evento é um objetivo
assumido pela organização.
Na edição anterior o evento revelou-se um enorme êxito, trazendo à Malveira
cerca de 500 pessoas, entre público, bandas, imprensa e responsáveis de bancas
de merchandise, de tal forma que os Bombeiros Voluntários locais ‘’exigiram’’ a
realização de muitas mais edições. É para isso que trabalhamos!

Symphonic Extreme Metal band based in Stockholm - founded and led by
multi-instrumental mastermind and songwriter Zorn.
After parting ways with his former band, he was determined to shake up the
traditional Metal meets Symphony approach with his new band Zornheym. Zornheym quickly grew from an ambitious idea into a dramatic musical and
cinematic narrative revolving around the horrors of a mental institution and its
prisoners.
Inspiration drawn from icons such as Dissection, Dimmu Borgir and King
Diamond is paired with real string orchestration and a powerful full choir.
Every song on the debut album will have a visual accompaniment in the form of
short graphic stories with further exploration of the themes as short films in
place of the standard approach to music videos.
The line-up is completed by Facebreaker's Bendler on vocals, guitarist
and musical arranger Scucca, and Diabolical drummer Angst.
The debut album has been recorded at Wing Studios by Sverker Widgren,
renowned veteran of sound engineering on the Scandinavian extreme metal scene
(October Tide, Demonical, IXXI, Diabolical)

“Following on the notion that one can never reach full potential out in the
open being a slave at heart it all comes down to - plain and simple - rising
above and stepping over and beyond all force-fed limitations in order to
accomplish honest satisfaction, fulfillment and unsuppressed growth as an
individual.” - about the concept behind the lyrics comments Darky, a
long-time friend of the band considered to be its spirit member who has also
contributed to the lyrics.
“To accompany the fierce and powerful lyrical content of “The I”, we
developed an equally strong-minded visual concept resembling the appearance of
medieval scriptures. It refers to the intense religious critique omnipresent in
each song and depicts the ancient spirit of rebellion at the same time.
The cover illustration reflects the general notions of the album – centrality,
elucidation and guidance. In the center of the image, the Devilish
Impressions’ sigil represents the band’s everlasting propaganda of the
aforementioned philosophy. The morning star on top of the sigil radiates
enlightenment and wisdom upon and through the darkness of religion and blind
belief. Each lyric is coupled with an old engraving modified in a certain way to
create a stronger bond with the text. The carefully crafted typography and
layout reinforce the antique and authentic look of the artwork.” - comments
Infected Minds, the entity responsible for the album’s cover illustration,
artwork and layout.
Recorded at various studios, including Dobra12 (drums) and Icaros
Studio (guitars) the disc was mixed and mastered at Impressive Art Studio
by Przemyslaw Nowak who also handled vocals recording sessions and
guitars’ re-amping. The album’s artwork, design and layout were created by
Infected Minds. Photo session by Robert Zembrzycki and Pawel Kowalski
of Bandphoto.pl
The album features special guest appearances by MERCYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND’s
guitarist Mike Wead and by Norway’s dark metal masters AETERNUS’
vocalist / guitarist Ares. Other artists who also contributed to the
record are shamanic ritual meditative experimental act BÖN and Impressive
Art Studio’s owner Przemyslaw Nowak who came up with interludes,
additional background tunes and effects.
The title chosen, “The I”, for the record is not only a phonetic acronym
of the band’s name, but above all it reflects the manifesto they stand for since
the Horde’s inception in the year 2000 – the notion of freedom of choice and
will. A supremacy of an individual over any external factors being imposed on us
by others, with special emphasis on convictions, dogmas and paradigms. “The
I” is a rebellious manifesto targeted against all those who stand opposed to
anything that drives us towards individual perfection.
