FACEBREAKER BIOGRAPHY

Facebreaker were formed in 1999, following a conversation between Janne, Roberth, Mikael and Jonas. They had similar music tastes and decided to start a brutal and straight-forward metal band. A few rehearsal-sessions later they added lead guitarist Janos to their line-up. Facebreakers first demo "Use Your Fist" was recorded at a local studio in the beginning of the new millennium.

In March 2001 they went back to the studio to record a promo demo called "Hate and Anger". 2002 U.K. based Rage of Achilles Records got hold of their promo and offered the band a deal. A Rage of Achilles compilation album called "Conquest For The Empire" was out in April, featuring Facebreaker along with other new signings on the label. In September Janos quit the band due to lack of time. Fortunately they knew a guitar-player named Mika and a line-up change took place.

In June 2003 Facebreaker’s promo demo "Hate and Anger" was released on seven-inch vinyl. In July the band entered Black Lounge Studios to record their first full-length album "Bloodred Hell". "Boodred Hell" was released in the beginning of 2004. It achieved great reviews and feedback all around the world. Unfortunately Rage Of Achilles went out of business somewhere between late 2004 and early 2005 and "Bloodred Hell" was never given the right amount of exposure it deserved.

Without a record-deal Facebreaker made a new promo demo and started to work on new material. Facebreaker got several offers from interested labels but finally choose to work with Singapore based Pulverised Records. 2007a new record-deal was closed with Pulverised Records and in July the band went back to Jonas Kjellgrens Black Lounge Studios to record their second full-length album "Dead Rotten and Hungry". 2008 Facebreaker released "Dead Rotten and Hungry" through Pulverised Records. The album is being licensed to Cyclone Empire for a limited edit. vinyl release. Facebreaker plays Party San Open Air in Germany and is getting enthusiastic feedback.

Facebreaker did their first European tour in 2009 and an amazing show at the With Full Force-Open Air Festival in Germany in front of more than 10,000 people. In September, “Bloodred Hell” is being re-released by Cyclone Empire with additional bonus tracks. A new worldwide record deal was signed with Cyclone Empire at the end of 2009.

On the first of January 2010 they started to record their third studio album called ”INFECTED”. This time they choose to work with Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge Studios and Peter Tägtgren at ABYSS studios.

“INFECTED” was released in October that same year. The release was followed by gigs and festivals all around Europe, and they did a massive show at the mighty Summer Breeze festival in 2011.

In 2012 they started to work on their upcoming fourth album “DEDICATED TO THE FLESH” and in January 2013 they entered Mr Plec’s The Panic Room Studios to record the drums. The rest was recorded in Slowly Rotting Studios and Crypt of Death Studios in their hometown Finspång and in Mars they went back to The Panic Room to do the mix and mastering. The result speaks for it self, a maximum assault of zombie death metal anger. Released in Europe 28.06.2013 through Cyclone Empire Records.

DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS BIOGRAPHY

Founded by Quazarre in 2000, DEVILISH IMPRESSIONS merges the fierceness of traditional black and death metal with a subtle dose of ethereal melodies. Throughout the years the band found the right balance between those seemingly opposing elements and eventually created their own, distinctive sonic path. Critically acclaimed records as well as intense touring all over the Old Continent along with some of the biggest names on the metal scene made the band a promising force on the map of European extreme music.

Considered as one of Poland’s leading and most innovative modern black / death metal acts Devilish Impressions started in 2000 as a three-piece, with founding singer / guitarist Quazarre remaining the only member of the original line-up. The band began the process of shaping up its own spirit and self-consciousness marking its presence with the 45-minutes-long “Eritis sicut Deus; Verbum Diaboli Manet in Aeternum; Vox Vespertilio Act I – Moon Var Dies Irae”, self-released in 2002.

2005 saw them recording “Plurima Mortis Imago”, released in September 2006 on Conquer Records. Two months later the band joins forces with AETERNUS for the European ‘Ageless Void Tour 2006’. In April 2007 they land a slot on MARDUK’s ‘Swords In The East’ Eastern European run.

In May 2007 the group enters Studio X for the recording session of their sophomore full-length “Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon”. While the record was being mastered by Andy Classen at Stage One Studio, Devilish Impressions appears at Red Alert Festival in the Crimea with VADER and SUFFOCATION. At the end of the year, the band sets off for the ‘Verbum Diaboli Tour 2007’, their first ever headlining run across the Eastern European countries.

The “Diabolicanos...” album, released in January 2008 again on Conquer Records, was widely praised in the international metal press and gave Devilish Impressions the opportunity to open for BEHEMOTH and SUICIDE SILENCE on ‘The Apostasy European Tour’, and then embark with DISMEMBER for the ‘UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland Tour’. Meanwhile the group was invited for selected shows of ‘Wacken Road Show 2008’ with OVERKILL, TRISTANIA, SAMAEL and ENSLAVED on the bill.

In May 2008 “Diabolicanos…” comes out in Poland licensed to Empire Records followed by the band’s first time ever Polish invasion ‘Rebel Angels Tour Vol. 3’ along with HATE. Right after the tour Devilish Impressions comes back to Ukraine for a special show with SATYRICON.

The summer of 2008 included the band's appearance at Pro Rock Festival while co-headlining with RAGE and at Metal Heads Mission Festival with bands like MOONSPELL, GORGOROTH and SAMAEL to name but a few.

In the second half of 2010, Devilish Impressions enters few recording studios in order to produce “Simulacra”, their latest full-length up-to-date. Releasing the album in 2012 on several record labels: Lifeforce Records (Europe / North America), Icaros Records (Poland), MSR Productions (Russia / CIS countries), resulted also in signing the worldwide deal with The Flaming Arts Management and Booking Agency.

Nominated for a 2012 METAL STORM AWARD “Simulacra” was voted one of the BEST MELODIC BLACK METAL / METALGAZE ALBUM and gets very good press all over the world.

In support to the record the group appears at a bunch of summer festivals, incl. Hard Rock Laager (with SAMAEL, MELECHESH), Carpathian Alliance (co-headlining with DARK FUNERAL, CARPATHIAN FOREST, TYR, ARKONA), Castle Party and Brutal East, followed by ‘Fear no Gods of The East Tour 2013’, a month-long headlining run across The Baltic States / Eastern European countries. After the tour Devilish Impressions plays at Wave Gotik Treffen (with PARADISE LOST, LACRIMOSA) and at MetalFest Open Air Poland (with HELLOWEEN, ACCEPT, SODOM, DESTRUCTION, DOWN, SATYRICON).

During the Summer of 2013 the band re-enters Hertz Studio for the drums recording session of what is now known as “Adventvs” EP. Several months later, having the material mixed and mastered by Arkadiusz Malczewski at Sound Division Studio, the band decides to re-master their 2002 never-published-before demo “Eritis sicvt Devs” to eventually add it up to the new tracks portraying the band’s re-defined sonic path. Released on May 2014 “Adventvs” features over an hour of both the band’s new and old music - Experimental Black Death Metal at its best.
In support to its premiere Devilish Impressions hits the road for a headliner tour across Poland.

Soon after the new tracks from “Adventvs” get the attention of a now-legendary Hammerheart Records. Thus they eventually come out as a 12’’ LP in February 2015.
A month later sees the emissaries of The Devil once again spread their message across their motherland as part of the tour along with CHRIST AGONY and BEHEADED.

On the 7th of May the band will commence the recording session of their new full-length, said to prove not only they’re still very open-minded but also dangerously unpredictable…

Com eles vêm também os Russos IMPERIAL AGE e os Alemães NULL POSITIV.

THERION announce new rock opera and European tour for 2018
When 15 year old prodigy Christofer Johnsson founded THERION as a death metal band in 1987, little did he know that exactly 30 years later he would put the final touches to a project that will go down in history as symphonic metal’s most ambitious release. While ‘metal operas’ are no longer an unusual creation, this term will forever receive a new meaning on January 26th, 2018, when the curtain opens for Johnsson’s lifelong creation: »Beloved Antichrist« is the title of his spectacular brainchild, consisting of 3 full-length CDs and is more than just a concept album, but a complete rock opera with multiple chapters, unveiling a sweeping story partly based on and inspired by Vladímir Soloviov "A Short Tale Of The Antichrist".

With an incredible total of 29 different roles and characters, whoall required a unique voice, THERION hired not only a big choir, but also 29 vocalists to bring the epic story to life. With long-time collaborators like Thomas Vikström, Lori Lewis and Chiara Malvestiti, fans will hear the classical THERION vibe but also be able to drown in a magical maelstrom of many new as well as familiar voices.

Divided into several chapters, the opera reaches a full length of 3 and a half hours and THERION are currently working on the possibility of bringing the entire production to the stage. And while this monumental undertaking still simmers away in the Swedish production halls, the band has announced a pan-European tour where they will perform some of their new masterpieces live in a classical concert setting. Support comes from Russia’s symphonic metallists IMPERIAL AGE and Germany's NULL POSITIV.
Don't miss this new milestone in the history of symphonic metal and witness this dramatic staging of the apocalypse and all those brave, sinister and fascinating characters heading towards the end of it all. "The world of metal would not be the same without THERION", wrote UK's Iron Fist Magazine in 2014 and one thing is for sure: After the unleashing of »Beloved Antichrist« in 2018, it never will be again.

“Following on the notion that one can never reach full potential out in the open being a slave at heart it all comes down to - plain and simple - rising above and stepping over and beyond all force-fed limitations in order to accomplish honest satisfaction, fulfillment and unsuppressed growth as an individual.” - about the concept behind the lyrics comments Darky, a long-time friend of the band considered to be its spirit member who has also contributed to the lyrics.

“To accompany the fierce and powerful lyrical content of “The I”, we developed an equally strong-minded visual concept resembling the appearance of medieval scriptures. It refers to the intense religious critique omnipresent in each song and depicts the ancient spirit of rebellion at the same time.
The cover illustration reflects the general notions of the album – centrality, elucidation and guidance. In the center of the image, the Devilish Impressions’ sigil represents the band’s everlasting propaganda of the aforementioned philosophy. The morning star on top of the sigil radiates enlightenment and wisdom upon and through the darkness of religion and blind belief. Each lyric is coupled with an old engraving modified in a certain way to create a stronger bond with the text. The carefully crafted typography and layout reinforce the antique and authentic look of the artwork.” - comments Infected Minds, the entity responsible for the album’s cover illustration, artwork and layout.

Recorded at various studios, including Dobra12 (drums) and Icaros Studio (guitars) the disc was mixed and mastered at Impressive Art Studio by Przemyslaw Nowak who also handled vocals recording sessions and guitars’ re-amping. The album’s artwork, design and layout were created by Infected Minds. Photo session by Robert Zembrzycki and Pawel Kowalski of Bandphoto.pl

The album features special guest appearances by MERCYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND’s guitarist Mike Wead and by Norway’s dark metal masters AETERNUS’ vocalist / guitarist Ares. Other artists who also contributed to the record are shamanic ritual meditative experimental act BÖN and Impressive Art Studio’s owner Przemyslaw Nowak who came up with interludes, additional background tunes and effects.

The title chosen, “The I”, for the record is not only a phonetic acronym of the band’s name, but above all it reflects the manifesto they stand for since the Horde’s inception in the year 2000 – the notion of freedom of choice and will. A supremacy of an individual over any external factors being imposed on us by others, with special emphasis on convictions, dogmas and paradigms. “The I” is a rebellious manifesto targeted against all those who stand opposed to anything that drives us towards individual perfection.

DIABOLICAL BIOGRAPHY:

Ever since DIABOLICAL was formed in Sundsvall, Sweden, in 1996 the band has caused confusion among the narrow-minded, constantly progressing, refusing to do the expected. Already with their early efforts "Deserts of Desolation" (mini album, 2000) and "Synergy" (2001) DIABOLICAL stood out as something different from the death metal bands coming up at the time, representing something unwilling to be categorized easily. The reception from fans and media was very good, resulting in a lot of coverage in major metal press at the time.

Following the success of the second full-length album "A Thousand Deaths" (2002) the band toured Europe several times in 2002-03 with AMON AMARTH, VOMITORY and DEFLESHED among others, co-headlined Open Hell festival (2002) and Kaltenbach Open Air (2003) and played several other festivals as well. The albums were later re-released in South America, and both albums were released in the USA as well.

2004-2008 the band only did few live appearances mainly due to Widgren’s intense and increasing work schedule producing other bands at his Necromorbus Studio.

But in 2008, after several years of record label related problems, DIABOLICAL returned with full force and delivered a milestone in their discography; taking their innovative death metal a huge step further they plunged the listener into the darkest corners of the human mind, bringing restrained aggression and cravings for vengeance to life in "The Gallery of Bleeding Art". The album received brilliant reviews and was followed by two small but very successful headline tours though Europe.

In January 2011 "Ars Vitae" was released, containing 17 tracks from different parts of the band's career. The newest material was recorded at Necromorbus Studio in 2010, and was again produced by founding band-member Sverker Widgren. The band did several tours between 2010 and 2011 in Europe and Russia in support of "Ars Vitae".

In 2012 an announcement was made that a new album was in the making. Entitled "Neogenesis" it stands out as something truly unique. The album raises the bar for concept albums as it apart from being a music album also is a novel. Uniting every song with a chapter of the book the music, lyrics, storytelling and philiosphy of "Neogenesis" blends together to create a profound experience that will surely leave a deep impression on the listener. "Neogenesis" will be released on the 27th of September 2013.

"I think this song is the easiest to understand the heart of this album" Zorn says "I remember demoing this track to our singer, Bendler, in the studio and he was so excited to dig his teeth into this one. Any old Devian fans out there? The solo section was originally written for Devian’s third album, which was never released. I have always loved that part and to expand upon it with our string and choir section just added so much more depth to it!”

LACUNA COIL |Italy| - Playing a Special Set
The first day headliners are the Italians LACUNA COIL, led by the charismatic Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, a band that remains one of the major references in the history of the Dark/Goth Rock music.
The band presents a special set specifically for Under the Doom, playing many of the classics that are part of their career.

LIV KRISTINE |Norway|- Performing Theatre of Tragedy and solo albums
Another muse in the history of Metal, Liv Kristine is one of the most renowned singers in the world as a member of Theatre of Tragedy, Leaves Eyes and her solo career.
Liv Kristine will be joined on stage by her musicians and will play a special set with songs by Theatre of Tragedy and some of her solo albums.

GREEN CARNATION |Norway|
The Norwegian Green Carnation are the musicians behind classics like “Light of Day, Day of Darkness” or “A Blessing in Disguise”, albums that left a mark on generations and that will always be one of the references in Dark/Rock music.
For the first time in Portugal, Green Carnation intends to stamp forever their performance in the memory of those attending the show.

THE FORESHADOWING |Italy|
From Rome, The Foreshadowing will be playing for the first time in Portugal, presenting their newest album “Seven Heads Ten Horns”, released in 2016. The band has also promised a special set for Under the Doom V, focused in their most well-known songs.

INHUMAN |Portugal| - Playing “Strange Desire”
Inhuman will be the only Portuguese band present at Under the Doom V, a band that by different circumstances in life, “lost its track” after the 1990s. They were authors of famous albums like “Strange Desire” or “Foreshadow”, considered has some of the best Dark/Black Portuguese albums ever.
The band will act live with its original line-up and will play the entire “Strange Desire” album.

One of the leading bands in Dark Progressive, Doom or Black metal music, this is undoubtedly one of the most wanted bands for Under the Doom. Making their debut in Portugal, In The Woods will take us on a journey through time, in a visit to each of their exquisite albums.
Their classic albums “Omnio”, “Strange in Stereo” or “Hearth of Ages” are today a major influence in new generations.

NOVEMBERS DOOM |USA|
Novembers Doom are one of the oldest bands from the United States still paying. Having ten released albums, the newest “Hamartia” was published this year and is an excellent album acclaimed all aver the world.

AHAB |Germany| - Playing “The Call of the Wretched Sea”
Weren't the German Ahab in Portugal at the last UTD? Yes! But this is one of those bands that we wouldn't mind receiving every year. Those who have seen them live know what we are talking about...
This time, the band brings us a special set, playing entirely their first album, “The Call of the Wretched Sea”.

ACHERONTAS |Greece/Germany|
One of the most influential bands in the European BM movement today, Acherontas play regularly as headliners or co-headliners at the main underground festivals through Europe. They are also known for being totally dedicated to music and being extremely professional.
For the first time in Portugal, this is a band that will astonish the audience at UTD.

GOLD |The Netherlands|
GOLD also make their debut in Portugal. Led by singer Milena Eva, they are one of the greatest revelations in the last years, especially after releasing their most recent work, “Optimist”.
An intensely serene performance, going through Rock, Psychedelic, Stoner and Doom, with a sound very close to Metal.

FUNERALIUM |France|
Coming from Paris, Funeralium return to Portugal bringing their newest studio release “Of Throes & Blight”. The band playing Funeral Doom is also renowned by their intense live performances. A concert not to miss...
