Iberian extreme metal outfit
NOCTEM have just released their highly anticipated fourth studio album
entitled "Haeresis". Released by Prosthetic
Records (N.America & UK/EU) and
Art Gates Records (Spain), "Haeresis" consists of ten brutally
punishing tracks which conceptually delve into the dark history of their home
country of Spain. Complimenting cover artwork, as seen above, was completed by
Seth Siro Anton Art (Septicflesh, Moonspell, Behemoth) and depicts an
epic and grotesque display of obscene torture extracted from the Spanish
inquisition (1.500 A.C.).
NOCTEM, consisting of Beleth (vocals), Exo (lead guitars), Ethell
(rhythm guitars), Varu (bass) and Voor (drums), self-recorded and produced
"Haerisis" earlier this year at Fireworks Estudios in Valencia
before sending it to Sweden's Necromorbus Studio for mixing and mastering
by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Valkyrja).
The band collectively proclaimed; "This record is proof that a band like us can keep evolving with time. It
looks, sounds, smells and tastes different from anything we've ever done while
keeping our original essence in every track. We're sure that any fan of Extreme
Metall will be satisfied with this new opus".

Existem dois tipos de bandas boas. O primeiro é constituído pelos grupos
pioneiros, pelos raros casos de originalidade que forjaram os diferentes géneros
de metal tais como os conhecemos hoje. O segundo é composto por um punhado de
projectos que, pegando nesses géneros, souberam moldá-los e transformá-los em
algo próprio, que resume a essência de um determinado estilo. Os Hate, nascidos
no primeiro ano da década de 90 na cidade polaca de Varsóvia, pertencem ao
segundo grupo, mas fazem-no com estilo. Começaram por ser associados ao conjunto
das inúmeras bandas que tentavam apenas ser os próximos Vader e/ou Behemoth e
acabaram, duas décadas e meia volvidas, a representar a primeira divisão do
metal extremo polaco com o que de melhor o black e o death metal local têm para
oferecer. E, como o público do Porto (Hard Club, 28 de Novembro) e Lisboa (RCA
Club, 29 de Novembro) vai poder testemunhar, fazem-no ao vivo sem comprometer
nem a forma nem o conteúdo daquilo que o metal extremo verdadeiramente
representa.
O vocalista e guitarrista Adam Buzko, conhecido na cena como Adam The First
Sinner, formou os Infected em Setembro de 1990, com uma série de músicos locais
que incluíam o baterista Mittloff (actualmente nos Riverside) e o guitarrista
Quack. Pouco tempo depois, o grupo abandonava a sonoridade thrash metal que
praticava, mudava o nome para Hate e dedicava-se ao death metal. Três maquetas
foram gravadas até 1996, ano em que foi editado o seu álbum de estreia “Daemon
Qui Fecit Terram”, em formato cassete. As comparações com as bandas conterrâneas
“grandes” como Behemoth e Vader eram recorrentes, mas alguma imprensa
underground destacava a capacidade do quarteto para unir a negridão satânica dos
primeiros à precisão técnica dos segundos. Essa versatilidade ficou vincada no
segundo disco, “Lord Is Avenger”, também lançado em cassete. Os Hate começavam
então a dar nas vistas numa cena europeia cada vez mais interessada em música de
inspiração anti-cristã e o almejado contrato discográfico com uma editora de
renome chegou em 1999 – com a Metal Mind Productions – consubstanciado pelo EP
“Victims”.
Os Hate eram, cada vez mais, uma banda internacional mas foi apenas em 2003, por
altura do lançamento do seu quarto álbum de estúdio “Awakening Of The Liar”, que
o grupo entrou na rota das digressões europeias regulares, muito por “culpa” do
contrato assinado com a Empire Records e Management, agência de grandes nomes
polacos como Vader ou Vesania. Por essa altura, já Adam The First Sinner tinha
iniciado uma verdadeira dança das cadeiras na formação do projecto, melhorando
sempre tecnicamente os Hate ao mesmo tempo que os dotava de disponibilidade para
novos “voos” e para regulares incursões nas temporadas de festivais na Europa. O
passo seguinte chegou com “Morphosis”, o sexto álbum de originais, que foi
editado pela Listenable Records, que deu à banda uma visibilidade exponencial,
acompanhada por um impressionante salto de qualidade musical e por uma crescente
personalidade própria na composição. Cinco anos e dois álbuns volvidos, a Napalm
Records (editora onde actualmente militam os Moonspell) reconhecia o valor,
honestidade e estatuto dos Hate, um dos últimos bastiões do death metal
satânico. “Solarflesh: A Gospel Of Radiant Divinity” foi recebido com elogios
unânimes por parte da imprensa e bons resultados de vendas. Dois anos depois,
“Cruzade:Zero” confirmava a boa forma do agora duo: Pavulon, dos Antigama, é
agora o baterista fixo que acompanha Adam, enquanto os convidados Kain (baixo) e
Domin (guitarra) completam actualmente a formação ao vivo que se apresentará em
Portugal.
Os Noctem, veteranos da cena espanhola, são os convidados de luxo desta “Raid
Across Euroland”, O death/thrash metal do grupo valenciano, bem enraizado no
black metal, valeu-lhes na última meia-década, quatro álbuns de originais e o
respeito dos seus pares. O enfoque da sua actuação estará certamente em
“Haeresis”, o novo disco, que será lançado no final de Setembro pela conceituada
Prosthetic Records.
Os concertos acontecem nos dias 28 (Hard Club, Porto) e 29 (RCA Club, Lisboa) de
Novembro, a partir das 21 horas. Os bilhetes estarão disponíveis em breve.
Brevemente serão anunciadas mais duas bandas de abertura.

Ukrainian barbaric back metal horde
BALFOR, have joined the ranks of cult French record label
Drakkar Productions. Their new album is to be released early in 2017.
BALFOR states: “After a long wait we can finally present the new
label. Balfor signs a worldwide deal with French Drakkar Productions.
We're happy to be part of this legendary team and look forward to a fruitful
cooperation. New album will be released in early 2017. More news to follow..."
BALFOR is a Ukrainian black metal band from Kyiv featuring Khors,
Raventale and ex-Hate Forest members. The band plays a style that can be to
define as barbaric black metal, a name that only partly explains the kind of
dark, dramatic music they play. Music that is an epic, melodic and a blastingly
fast mixture of black and death metal.
The band's frontman, continuously since its founding, is Anton Thorgeir
Prymak - lead vocals, guitars and as well as main composer. The first album,
Volki Severa, was released by German label E.O.L.P. Production and
received many good reviews. In the meantime, the band completed their first
Ukrainian tour.
Next release, Pure Barbaric, in a move calculated to bring
BALFOR to the attention of a much larger audience was released for free
download via a net-label. It was a move that was extremely successful in terms
of increasing interest to the band. Using the resources and capabilities of
social media
BALFOR manages to attract new listeners worldwide.
Writing a new album, Barbaric Blood,BALFOR signed a contract and
published it on Pulverised
Records. A European tour in support of the album was very successful.
The band played shows in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain,
Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland.
BALFOR also took part in such well-known European metal festivals
including Eindhoven Metal Meeting, Rockmaraton, Dong Open Air, Global East,
Metal Heads Mission, Kilkim Zaibu, Gothoom, Carpathian Alliance, Metal Crowd
and more.
After that Barbaric Blood was released by CD-Maximum Records for
CIS and Baltic countries under the license of Pulverised Records. A
second European tour
BALFOR shared in the company of black metal bands Emptiness and
Christ Agony. Without dwelling on their achievements,
BALFOR returned to Kyiv and recorded the EP Haralds Of The Fall.
The new album, Black Serpent Rising, was recorded in 2015 and is awaiting
release. The album interprets dark, barbaric past of humanity and ancient cults.
Having huge experience of live shows, impressive list of club shows and
festivals. Band used widely social media platforms and has fan-base all around
the world.
BALFOR is a worthy representative of Ukrainian and East European metal
scene.

Facebreaker were formed in 1999, following a conversation between
Janne, Roberth, Mikael and Jonas. They had similar music tastes and decided
to start a brutal and straight-forward metal band. A few rehearsal-sessions
later they added lead guitarist Janos to their line-up. Facebreakers
first demo "Use Your Fist" was recorded at a local studio in the
beginning of the new millennium.
In March 2001 they went back to the studio to record a promo demo called
"Hate and Anger". 2002 U.K. based Rage of Achilles Records got hold
of their promo and offered the band a deal. A Rage of Achilles
compilation album called "Conquest For The Empire" was out in April,
featuring Facebreaker along with other new signings on the label. In
September Janos quit the band due to lack of time. Fortunately they knew
a guitar-player named Mika and a line-up change took place.
In June 2003 Facebreaker’s promo demo "Hate and Anger" was released on
seven-inch vinyl. In July the band entered Black Lounge Studios to record
their first full-length album "Bloodred Hell". "Boodred Hell" was
released in the beginning of 2004. It achieved great reviews and feedback all
around the world. Unfortunately Rage Of Achilles went out of business
somewhere between late 2004 and early 2005 and "Bloodred Hell" was never
given the right amount of exposure it deserved.
Without a record-deal Facebreaker made a new promo demo and started to
work on new material. Facebreaker got several offers from interested
labels but finally choose to work with Singapore based Pulverised Records.
2007a new record-deal was closed with Pulverised Records and in July the
band went back to Jonas Kjellgrens Black Lounge Studios to record their
second full-length album "Dead Rotten and Hungry". 2008 Facebreaker
released "Dead Rotten and Hungry" through Pulverised Records. The
album is being licensed to Cyclone Empire for a limited edit. vinyl
release. Facebreaker plays Party San Open Air in Germany and is
getting enthusiastic feedback.
Facebreaker did their first European tour in 2009 and an amazing show at
the With Full Force-Open Air Festival in Germany in front of more than
10,000 people. In September, “Bloodred Hell” is being re-released by
Cyclone Empire with additional bonus tracks. A new worldwide record deal was
signed with Cyclone Empire at the end of 2009.
On the first of January 2010 they started to record their third studio album
called ”INFECTED”. This time they choose to work with Jonas Kjellgren
at Black Lounge Studios and Peter Tägtgren at ABYSS studios.
“INFECTED” was released in October that same year. The release was
followed by gigs and festivals all around Europe, and they did a massive show at
the mighty Summer Breeze festival in 2011.
In 2012 they started to work on their upcoming fourth album “DEDICATED TO THE
FLESH” and in January 2013 they entered Mr Plec’s The Panic Room Studios
to record the drums. The rest was recorded in Slowly Rotting Studios and
Crypt of Death Studios in their hometown Finspång and in Mars they went back
to The Panic Room to do the mix and mastering. The result speaks for it
self, a maximum assault of zombie death metal anger. Released in Europe
28.06.2013 through Cyclone Empire Records.

O início do meu caminho com os Heavenwood em 1992. Os NECROSIDE (
Pré - Disgorged ) estreavam-se ao vivo em Vila Nova de Gaia ( Canelas ) com uma
actuação recheada de emoções fortes, tão fortes que até me esqueci de ligar o
meu amplificador SAMICK de 15w no início da actuação. Agarrado com unhas e
dentes à minha primeira guitarra YAMAHA RGX-110, trajado de calças elásticas
negras e camisola dos Entombed " Clandestine " adquirida na Casa Amarela
em Costa Cabral ( Porto ).
Jamais esquecerei o esforço e gosto com que os meus pais ofereceram a minha
primeira guitarra e o meu primeiro amplificador, numa manhã de Sábado em pleno "
inferno " de Agosto. Recordo que a negociação relativamente à cor da guitarra
estava difícil entre a minha Mãe e Eu. Ela rendida ao encanto da versão Bordeaux
mas eu nem por isso..eu queria negra..o mais negra possível.
As " tréguas " foram sanadas quando propus utilizar o cinto da Guitarra na cor
que ela mais preferia..o Bordeaux. Talvez uma espécie de metáfora inconsciente
da minha parte mas simbólica do Sangue que nos une.
E o Concerto lá começou e até à data ainda não parou!"

IMPRESSIONS will be touring extensively in their support.

going to be the last stream of dates promoting our previous offerings, with

ZORNHEYM
have released today their debut debut single, entitled “The Opposed” via Non Serviam
Records.
The single and the forth-coming album have been recorded and mastered by
Sverker Widgren, a renowned veteran of sound engineering on the Scandinavian
extreme metal scene (October Tide, Demonical, IXXI, Diabolical) with
cover art created by the wildly talented photographer and designer Jens Rydén
(Marduk, Thyrfing).
The single is part of
ZORNHEYM’s
concept that revolves around the horrors of a mental institution and its
inmates. Each song also has its own comic strip drawn by the amazing artist
Anu Bring (Märvel, Evil-lÿn, Satan’s fall).
