Conquest Icon was found in late 2009 by Andy Blakk (ex-Pyorrhoea,
Suicide Circle) and Empherion (Empheris, Hellish).
Band, supported by Imp from Saltus, started to work on debut album
in November 2009 and in April 2010 “Hellspire” was finished. Album was
mixed and produced by Andy Blakk (drums and vocals were recorded in
KPD Studio; guitars and bass were recorded in ABH Studio).
Music on “Hellspire” is an old school blackened death metal.
Album was released by 16th of July 2010. CDs are available through band's site

After releasing debut album "Hellspire", band takes no rest. In August
2010 the lineup was completed and band started to work on the material for the
split "We Are The Ancients" (split is shared with Empheris, Wraith,
Necroist and Purifier). Split is soon to be released.
In May 2012 co-founder and band's vocalist, Empherion, decided to leave
the band due to personal reasons. He was replaced by Ronve. Current
lineup is following.
Swedish old-school death metal tyrants DEMONICAL have unleashed a limited batch of "Black Flesh
Redemption" and "Hellsworn" tapes now, this tapes are available
directly from the band.

IMPRESSIONS have just announced the departure of their bassist Vraath!
The bands mentor Quazarre has stated the following:
"People come and go, as they say... We’re sad to inform you that Vraath
(bass guitar / backing vocals), our brother-in-arms for the past 7 years, has
recently decided to call it quits from DEVILISH
IMPRESSIONS due to no longer being able to fully commit himself to the
band's crusade. Seeing we've been literally through shit-loads of ups and downs
together, both Icanraz and I would like to thank him for his intense part of the DEVILISH
IMPRESSIONS chapter, and wish him best of luck with all his future
endeavors."
Vraath joined DEVILISH
IMPRESSIONS in 2009 and made his studio debut on the band's 2012 "Simulacra"
album. Also appeared on the 2015 MLP "Adventvs”, as well as on the
coming "The I" album. Vraath's replacement shall be announced
shortly.

DIABOLICAL’s new EP "Umbra" (...) is a multifaceted obsidian gem.
Atmospherically forbidding and possessed of a grim, doomed grandeur for most of
its length, Umbra is also savage — and at times wistful and meditative. It’s so
well-conceived and expertly performed that it has the capacity to carry
listeners away and hold them in thrall, while also triggering fierce surges of
adrenaline.
"Umbra" also reflects changes in style since the band’s last release, the
2013 concept album "Neogenesis". Gone are the symphonic arrangements and
massed choral voices, yet even in the absence of these elements the music is
still often shrouded in an aura of forbidding majesty — as well as implacable
menace.
This sense of dark, malignant majesty comes through powerfully in the EP’s
opening track, “Requiem“. The song is well-named, because there is also a
stately, funereal air in the song’s bleak, melancholy melody, its groaning bass
chords, and the slow, sinuous guitar solo that comes in the track’s back half.
Yet the swarming tremolo riffs and tyrannical vocals also suggest the presence
of an implacable evil.
“Diaspora” generates a thoroughly morbid atmosphere from the beginning.
Alternating within the song are slow, mournful chords of doom, tremolo riffing
that seethes like a nest of vipers being consumed by flames, and rapid jabbing
paired with a slow, eerie guitar lead.
The third track, “Tremor” bring a surprising change of pace, intensity,
and style. Nearly clean guitar notes that have a kind of Doppler effect in their
reverberation give the song a dreamlike air, a feeling that grows stronger as
the melody begins to glide, enhanced by a soulful guitar solo. It’s a melancholy,
wistful, meditative piece that for much of its length is accompanied by excerpts
from the late Jiddu Krishnamurti‘s Talks on Fear (eventually joined by
clean vocals).
DIABOLICAL close "Umbra" with the dynamism of “Decline“,
an ominous song launched with a bleak and barbarous assault. Laced with wisps of
eerie melody and including an interlude of gliding chords and sparkling guitar
notes as well as a mournful solo, the song proves to be as entrancing as it is
pummeling.
Though each of these songs is very strong standing alone, this really is an EP
best heard all the way through, from start to finish. In my humble opinion, it’s
one of
DIABOLICAL’s best releases yet.

NO CLEAN SIGNING WORDS ON NIRNAETH SPLIT:
"Earlier this month we reviewed an impressive new
split by two experienced French bands from the black metal underground — NIRNAETH and
Azziard. The split, which includes one exclusive song from each band, will
be released on August 12 on 7″ vinyl by Kaotoxin Records — the first 7″
ever released by the label. Now we’re following that review with the premiere of
a video for NIRNAETH’s
powerful track, along with an interview of the band’s guitarist Mutill.
NIRNAETH, who took
their name from the word for “Tears” in the elvish language of Sindarin from the
works of J.R.R. Tolkien, began their existence roughly 15 years ago. Prior to
this split, they released two albums, Thrown Athwart the Darkness in 2006
and Splendour of the Abyss in 2009. Their contribution to the split is a
track called “Nihil in Me”, and it was was recorded during the
pre-production process for a forthcoming third album.
As we learned in the accompanying interview, this new album, like the first two,
will tell a story, and “Nihil In Me” is a central part of that narrative
— “where the body is regarded as a dam and the blood like a lake frustrated”. In
this song, the story’s central character “decides to sabotage the dam in order
to leave his body ‘as one leaves a scorched earth'”.
To represent this concept of a body as a dam, the video focuses on tight shots
of faces and bodies — which intensifies an already intense performance.
The music itself is a turbocharged assault of gut-punching percussion and fierce
riff swarms, with poisonous vocal vitriol. The chaotic torrent of black metal
savagery is broken by a head-bobbing, hard-rocking interlude before the
hell-ride resumes and rockets toward its conclusion."

Iberian Iberian extreme metal outfit
NOCTEM are excited to reveal the details on their highly anticipated
fourth studio album entitled "Haeresis". Scheduled for release on
September 30 via Prosthetic
Records (N.America & UK/EU) and
Art Gates Records (Spain), "Haeresis" consists of ten brutally
punishing tracks which conceptually delve into the dark history of their home
country of Spain. Complimenting cover artwork, as seen above, was completed by
Seth Siro Anton Art(Septicflesh, Moonspell, Behemoth) and
depicts an epic and grotesque display of obscene torture extracted from the
Spanish inquisition (1.500 A.C.).
NOCTEM, consisting of Beleth (vocals), Exo (lead guitars),
Ethell (rhythm guitars), Varu (bass) and Voor (drums),
self-recorded and produced "Haerisis" earlier this year at Fireworks
Estudios in Valencia before sending it to Sweden's Necromorbus Studio
for mixing and mastering by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Valkyrja).
The band collectively proclaimed; "This record is proof that a band like us can keep evolving with time. It
looks, sounds, smells and tastes different from anything we've ever done while
keeping our original essence in every track. We're sure that any fan of Extreme
Metall will be satisfied with this new opus".

join forces with their new label for eagerly anticipated debut single, “ The
Opposed”.
Swedish extreme symphonic metallers
ZORNHEYM
have inked a deal with the Dutch label Non Serviam
Records. The debut single, entitled “The Opposed”, will be released on
the 19th of August through all digital platforms.
The single and the forth-coming album have been recorded and mastered by
Sverker Widgren, a renowned veteran of sound engineering on the Scandinavian
extreme metal scene (October Tide, Demonical, IXXI, Diabolical) with
cover art created by the wildly talented photographer and designer Jens Rydén
(Marduk, Thyrfing).
The single is part of
ZORNHEYM’s
concept that revolves around the horrors of a mental institution and its
inmates. Each song also has its own comic strip drawn by the amazing artist
Anu Bring (Märvel, Evil-lÿn, Satan’s fall).
Comment by guitarist Zorn: “We are absolutely stoked to be signing with Non Serviam Records. It’s
a hard working label that shares our vision and together we will release this
